The Innovation Task Force is one part of the Innovation Center at Oakwood Heritage Hospital. The Innovation Center was created based on Baldrige principles and feedback to foster inventive thinking for process improvement at all levels. The Innovation Task Force has one purpose: to generate new ideas on how to take Heritage to the pinnacle of success. It acts as the “brain trust” for patient experience improvement ideas and links to system initiatives. In March 2012 several of the 50 ideas generated by the Innovation Task Force were employed throughout the hospital. One of the positive results was a marked increase in HCAHPS scores for quietness of the hospital environment.
