US Patent:
50305395, Jul 9, 1991
Filed:
Apr 11, 1990
Appl. No.:
7/508215
Inventors:
Karl A. Kintz - Kettering OH
Robert A. Landis - Kettering OH
Kelli J. Borello - Kettering OH
Assignee:
The Mead Corporation - Dayton OH
International Classification:
B41M 512
G03C 168
US Classification:
430138
Abstract:
Disclosed is a developer sheet useful in forming reproductions having a glossy finish, or in forming transparencies comprising: a support having a layer of a finely divided, thermoplastic, developer material on the surface thereof, said developer material being capable of reacting with a color precursor to produce a visible image and being capable of coalescing into a thin film which imparts gloss to said image upon application of heat and/or pressure, and having a surfactant admixed within said layer of developer material to aid in the coalescing of said developer material into a thin film.

Hot Air Apparatus For Glossing Sheets

US Patent:
50862090, Feb 4, 1992
Filed:
Feb 16, 1988
Appl. No.:
7/155795
Inventors:
Karl A. Kintz - Kettering OH
Russell K. Messer - Franklin OH
Carl W. McCrary - West Carrollton OH
Erik K. Nelson - Centerville OH
Assignee:
The Mead Corporation - Dayton OH
International Classification:
G03G 1520
US Classification:
219216
Abstract:
An apparatus is for glossing a sheet having a thermoplastic resin on the surface thereof. The thermoplastic resin is capable of forming a film which imparts gloss upon the application of heat. The apparatus includes a sheet support, a first pair of rollers for feeding the sheet onto the sheet support wherein the resin side of the sheet is away from the sheet support, heating elements, a blower for blowing air through the heating elements to generate hot air which is blown onto the sheet, and a second pair of cold rollers for receiving the sheet after passage over the sheet support.

Paul C. Adair - Springboro OH
Assignee:
The Mead Corporation - Dayton OH
International Classification:
B41M 516
US Classification:
503212
Abstract:
A developer sheet comprising a support having a layer of a color developer on the surface thereof, said color developer being capable of reacting with a substantially colorless electron donating color former to produce a color image and being an acrylic or methacrylic polymer having pendant developer moieties (e. g. , hydroxy aromatic or aromatic acid moieties such as salicyclic or phthalic acid moieties) which are preferably metallated (e. g. , zincated) or being the polymeric reaction product of vinyl salicylic acid or salt.

Automotive Active Vibration Control Using Circular Force Generators

View page
US Patent:
20210356012, Nov 18, 2021
Filed:
Oct 11, 2019
Appl. No.:
17/284447
Inventors:
- Cleveland OH, US
Stefan Barbulescu - Fuquay Varina NC, US
Martin Bieber - Oak Island NC, US
Karl Andrew Kintz - Apex NC, US
Assignee:
LORD Corporation - Cleveland OH
International Classification:
F16F 7/10
B62D 7/22
Abstract:
A vehicle active vibration control (AVC) system includes a vehicle having at least an engine, a transmission, a controller area network (CAN) bus, a frame, and a cabin. The vibration control devices () are distributed about the frame, with each device including a circular force generator (CFG) (). At least one sensor is positioned on the frame to detect and measure a noise and/or vibration within the cabin. Each sensor creates an electronic data signal and electrically communicates with a corresponding vibration control device. Each vibration control device receives an electronic data signal from a corresponding sensor and vehicle data from the CAN bus. Each vibration control device processes the electronic data signal and the vehicle data. The CFG of each vibration control device generates a vibration canceling force having a magnitude and phase that attenuates noise and/or vibration within the cabin.
