Appl. No.:
09/639208
Inventors:
Wen Syan Li - Fremont CA
Kasim Selouk Candan - Mountain View CA
Divyakant Agrawal - Santa Barbara CA
Assignee:
NEC Corporation - Tokyo
International Classification:
G06F 1730
US Classification:
707 10, 707 2, 707 9, 7071041
Abstract:
A system for updating Web pages stored in cache based on modifications to data stored in a database is disclosed. The system for updating stored Web pages may be part of a larger system having a database management system for storing data used to generate Web pages. The database management system is capable of identifying modified data stored in the database. The system for updating stored Web pages is comprised of one or more servers programmed for maintaining associations between the stored Web pages and the stored data, and receiving the identity of modified data from the memory management system. In addition, the servers are capable of determining, from the identified modified data and the maintained associations, which stored Web pages are associated with the identified modified data. Furthermore, the servers are capable of communicating an update command to the cache that contains the stored Web pages associated with the identified modified data, for the purpose of updating the stored Web pages.

Dual-Action Piezoelectric Lighter

View page
US Patent:
6808387, Oct 26, 2004
Filed:
Aug 27, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/648683
Inventors:
Wen Qian Li - Hacienda Heights CA, 91745
International Classification:
F23D 1136
US Classification:
431153, 431255
Abstract:
A dual-action safety arrangement for a piezoelectric lighter includes an axle holder provided at an inner side of a casing and an ignition cap, which is slidably mounted on a ceiling of the casing in a radially movable manner about an operation axle held at the axle holder, including a depressing arm extended to rest on top of a piezoelectric unit. To ignite the piezoelectric lighter, the ignition cap must be radially and rearwardly slid to actuate a gas emitting nozzle for releasing the gas from a liquefied gas storage and simultaneously depressed to depress a movable operating part of the piezoelectric unit to generate sparks to ignite the gas emitted from the gas emitting nozzle so as to ignite the piezoelectric lighter.

Adaptive Optical Transceiver For Fiber Access Communications

View page
US Patent:
7317874, Jan 8, 2008
Filed:
Jun 2, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/446276
Inventors:
Wen Li - Fremont CA, US
Qing Zhu - San Jose CA, US
Assignee:
Broadway Networks, Inc. - San Jose CA
International Classification:
H04J 14/00
US Classification:
398 72, 398 69, 398 67, 398 68, 398 70, 398 71, 398 95
Abstract:
An optical module includes a transmitter optical sub-assembly comprising a transmitter configured to emit a multi-longitudinal-mode (MLM) spectrum signal having an emission spectrum comprising a plurality of distinct narrow-spectrum peaks each corresponding to a longitudinal mode in the transmitter. The emission spectrum can be shifted in wavelength by a change in the transmitter temperature. The optical module also includes a heating and cooling device configured to control the temperature of the transmitter in response to a temperature-control signal and a receiver optical sub-assembly configured to output a pair of differential digital signals in response to an input optical signal.

Fiber-To-The-Premise Optical Communication System

View page
US Patent:
7440701, Oct 21, 2008
Filed:
Apr 3, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/396973
Inventors:
Wen Li - Fremont CA, US
Qing Zhu - San Jose CA, US
Assignee:
Broadway Networks, Ltd. - San Jose CA
International Classification:
H04B 10/00
US Classification:
398135, 398 67, 398 82
Abstract:
An optical communication system includes a first wavelength filter, a bidirectional amplifier, and a second wavelength filter. The first wavelength filter can receive a downstream broad-spectrum signal and output a downstream spectrum-sliced signal in response to the downstream broad-spectrum signal. The bidirectional amplifier can amplify the downstream spectrum-sliced signal. The second wavelength filter can receive the amplified downstream spectrum-sliced signal from the bidirectional amplifier and route the amplified downstream spectrum-sliced signal. The second wavelength filter can also output an upstream spectrum-sliced signal in response to an upstream broad-spectrum signal. The bidirectional amplifier can amplify the upstream spectrum-sliced signal to product an amplified upstream spectrum-sliced signal that is subsequently routed by the first wavelength filter.
