Filed:
Aug 5, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/198711
Inventors:
Kevin Kwong-Tai Chung - Princeton NJ, US
Xiaoming Shi - Highland Park NJ, US
Jing Jian Li - Plainsboro NJ, US
Assignee:
Avante International Technology, Inc. - Princeton Junction NJ
International Classification:
G08B 13/14
US Classification:
3405724, 3405721, 340 104
Abstract:
An RFID monitoring arrangement comprises a first RFID device and a second RFID device for monitoring the first RFID device. The first RFID device transmits at least two messages each including unique identifying information and a power level code, wherein the transmitter power level corresponds to the power level represented by the power level code in each transmitted message. The second RFID device receives messages transmitted by the first RFID device and processes the identifying information and the power level code to provide an indication of a condition. Messages received from said first RFID device, the indication of a condition, or both the messages received from said first RFID device and the indication of a condition, may be relayed to a remote location.

US Patent:
RE41427, Jul 13, 2010
Filed:
May 13, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/129759
Inventors:
Jing Li - Cranbury NJ, US
Xiaoying Huang - Highland Park NJ, US
Assignee:
Rutgers, The State University - New Brunswick NJ
International Classification:
H01L 31/00
US Classification:
257442, 257 40, 257642, 257 14, 257E29072, 257E29076, 438 99, 438102
Abstract:
Hybrid crystalline organic-inorganic quantum confined systems are disclosed, which contain alternating layers of a bifunctional organic ligand and a II-VI semiconducting chalcogenide, wherein the semiconducting chalcogenide layers contain chalcogenides have the formula MQ, in which M is independently selected from II-VI semiconductor cationic species and Q is independently selected from S, Se and Te; and the bifunctional organic ligands of each organic ligand layer are bonded by a first functional group to an element M of an adjacent II-VI semiconducting chalcogenide layer and by a second functional group to an element M from the adjacent opposing II-VI semiconducting chalcogenide layer, so that the adjacent opposing II-VI semiconducting chalcogenide layers are linked by the bifunctional organic ligands of the organic ligand layers. Optical absorption experiments show that these systems produce a significant blue shift in their optical absorption edges, 1. 2-1. 5 eV, compared to a shift of 1.
