Collaborative local positioning techniques, such as could be used with smart phones, surveying equipment, or other mobile devices, are described. The techniques include independent techniques for distance measurement between devices, the relative positioning of devices, and an absolute orienting of the devices without use of fixed anchor points and through on-will participation of the devices to provide privacy. Distances between devices are determined by use of a sequence of positioning signals, such as a magnetic signal, each of which include an identifier of the transmitting device, the amplitude of the signal as transmitted, and the position of the signal within the sequence. The amplitude of the positioning signal as received can be compared to the amplitude as transmitted to obtain a distance.

A node in a distributed network computes a hash of content for a service received in a data packet. The node verifies the data packet by comparing the hash of the content of a service received from a neighboring node to a hash of the content computed by the node. An amount of content of the service having a same identification is accumulated in a trusted execution environment (TEE) of the node, and a signature based on code stored in a TEE of the node is generated. The node then sends the data packet to the next neighboring node, where the service-related information includes the service ID, a hash of the service content and the signature. The service records with the accumulated amount of service content, accumulated hash values, and nodes' signatures are sent to the validation nodes to reach consensus for the service provided.

A tamper resistant receptacle having a propeller shutter assembly comprising a propeller shutter comprising a central hub with an annual opening, a pair of radially extending arms, and a wing block disposed on the end of each arm. The shutter assembly also includes an anchor for attaching the propeller to the receptacle body and a spring member to bias the propeller in the “closed” position. The wing blocks are sized to block a respect one of the hot and neutral openings of a standard 15-amp electrical receptacle. The wing blocks each include a ramp or inclined cam surface. These surfaces are juxtaposed such that when a plug blade hit one surface and cams past it to cause rotation of the propeller, the opposite plug blade cams down and past the other surface to cause rotation of the propeller in the same direction. This configuration causes the propeller to translate vertical force from the plug blades into rotational force in a direction and of sufficient force to overcome the spring bias of the spring and rotate the propeller wing block out of the way of the electrical contacts such that the blades can “plug in” to the device's electrical contacts.
