Pre-Registration Apparatus

View page
US Patent:
20080061499, Mar 13, 2008
Filed:
Sep 13, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/520373
Inventors:
Paul J. DeGruchy - Hilton NY, US
Henry T. Bober - Fairport NY, US
Xinzhong Zhang - Rochester NY, US
International Classification:
B65H 5/02
B65H 5/04
US Classification:
271273
Abstract:
A stalled roll registration system and method includes a mechanism that allows for pivoting deskew action in a pre-registration nip in the form of a segmented pre-registration drive roll assembly mounted on a releasable low friction lateral translation carriage. Outer pre-registration idler nips are provided that open to allow a sheet to pivot and close for transport the sheet. The pre-registration idlers are engaged and the drive roll assembly remains locked in the lateral position for initial paper transport up to the stalled registration roll. After the sheet arrives at the stalled registration roll and starts to form a buckle for deskew, the outer pre-registration idlers and carriage are released. The body of the sheet is then free to pivot about the center drive nip and translate in the lateral direction to self align itself with the registration roll.

US Patent:
20220324604, Oct 13, 2022
Filed:
Sep 24, 2020
Appl. No.:
17/762866
Inventors:
- Abbott Park IL, US
JEREMY MCBROOM - Columbus OH, US
XINZHONG ZHANG - Mason OH, US
JAY YUAN - Mason OH, US
International Classification:
B65D 1/44
B65D 1/02
Abstract:
A plastic container () having an upper portion () including a reclosable and resealable open top end (), a base portion () closing off an end of the container, and an intermediate portion () being integrally formed with and exiting from the upper portion to the base portion. The intermediate portion includes by a plurality of horizontal ribs () arranged substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the container, at least one of the horizontal ribs being disposed longitudinally between an upper land and a lower land. The container has a volume capacity is 235 ml. or greater and a plastic weight of 20 g or less. At least one of the plurality of horizontal ribs has a horizontal rib depth (DR) of at least 4.5 mm and a horizontal rib width (WR) to horizontal rib depth ratio of between 2.2 to 2.7.

Bottle With Expansion Chamber And Pinch Grips

US Patent:
20160251104, Sep 1, 2016
Filed:
Jul 24, 2014
Appl. No.:
15/091452
Inventors:
- St. Louis MO, US
John Fortune - Ballwin MO, US
Danielle Keegan - St. Louis MO, US
Jay Z. Yuan - Mason OH, US
Xinzhong Zhang - Mason OH, US
International Classification:
B65D 1/02
B65D 85/72
B67C 3/28
A47G 19/22
Abstract:
An embodiment of a beverage bottle can have a bottle body defining an interior space configured for storing a beverage. The bottle can include a neck, for example, having an inner neck portion extending from the body. The neck can have an expansion chamber extending beyond the inner portion opposite the body. The neck defines an interior channel in fluid communication with the interior space and extending through the inner portion and expansion chamber to an outlet of the bottle for filling the interior space and pouring the beverage out therefrom. In one embodiment, the interior channel in the inner portion has a first cross-sectional area that leads into the expansion chamber, with the channel in the expansion chamber having a second cross-sectional area that is significantly larger than the first cross-sectional area. This difference in cross-sectional areas can be used to significantly slow the rise of the beverage level in the expansion chamber as the bottle is filled.
