Abstract:
A method and system to compute the dose to a patient () given a captured integrated exit-transit image () of the radiation rays () traveling from the source of x-rays () through the patient () to the imaging device () to product the exit-transit image (). Each radiation field image () is transformed () to multiple images () for each phantom thickness () that was measured with the imaging device () for a range of field sizes (). Given the water equivalent path () through the patient for a ray () reaching a pixel (), the final pixel value () is interpolated from the images () that bracket the water equivalent path through the patient ().
