Associative Media Architecture And Platform

View page
US Patent:
8151178, Apr 3, 2012
Filed:
Jun 18, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/871883
Inventors:
Jennifer Ross - Boulder CO, US
William Snyder - Lafayette CO, US
Ned McClain - Boulder CO, US
Trent R. Hein - Boulder CO, US
Assignee:
G. W. Hannaway & Associates - Boulder CO
International Classification:
G06F 17/00
US Classification:
715202, 715810, 705 144
Abstract:
An associative media architecture and platform that enables communication of media objects between participants using a variety of communication infrastructures and media presentation devices as determined by the users and owners of the media assets. Media assets formatted as media representations are associated with a globally unique identifier to form a media object. The media object can contain any media representation irrespective of format. The media object is an elemental entity having characteristics that are preferably retained throughout the life of the media object. The media object may be owned by one or more participants. The media object may be associated with owner preferences that can influence the context in which the media object is presented. The media object may exist in multiple storage locations, although each stored instance of the media object retains its unique identification and remains associated with the owner preferences.

Algorithm For Prioritization Of Event Datum In Generic Asynchronous Telemetric Streams

US Patent:
20020178275, Nov 28, 2002
Filed:
Mar 14, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/809332
Inventors:
Trent Hein - Boulder CO, US
Ned McClain - Boulder CO, US
International Classification:
G06F015/16
US Classification:
709/231000, 709/207000
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and algorithms for prioritizing event datum received from a plurality of asynchronous telemetric streams. A historic learning algorithm is utilized to prioritize event datum based upon a current level of system health and historic correlations between event values and recorded levels of system health.

System For Uniquely Identifying Assets And Subsribers In A Multi-Media Communicaion Network

View page
US Patent:
20030204592, Oct 30, 2003
Filed:
Mar 7, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/092709
Inventors:
Timothy Hanafee - Parker CO, US
Trent Hein - Boulder CO, US
Ned McClain - Littleton CO, US
Jennifer Ross - Boulder CO, US
William Snyder - Lafayette CO, US
Assignee:
Crown Media Holdings, Inc.
International Classification:
H04N007/16
G06F015/173
G06F015/16
US Classification:
709/225000, 709/229000, 725/025000
Abstract:
The present system for uniquely identifying assets and subscribers in a multi-media communication network assigns a unique and substantially self-identifying signature to every asset managed by the multi-media communication network as well as the subscribers who access the multi-media communication network. The signature ID system operates as an overlay on the multi-media communication networks to receive individual subscriber requests for a selected multi-media asset and deliver that asset as desired to the requesting subscriber. This service is facilitated by the use of the signature ID system which is used to assign each subscriber and asset a unique identification, that contains both immutable and dynamically assignable segments. The registration system component functions to authorize the registration of subscribers and/or assets and assign their respective unique identification. In addition, the content authority component uses the subscriber identifier and asset identifier to determine whether a subscriber is authorized to access assets, and to initiate the delivery of that asset to the subscriber via a communication medium.
