Inventors:
Jeremy F. Knopow - Burlington WI, US
Steven A. Zach - Racine WI, US
Michael J. Maloney - Madison WI, US
Jonathan M. Mick - Marshall WI, US
Kevin L. Askling - Madison WI, US
Thomas A. Sutrina - Rockford IL, US
Assignee:
S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc. - Racine WI
International Classification:
A47L 25/00
US Classification:
15104002, 1525022, 1523011
Abstract:
A device () for cleaning surfaces is provided utilizing a web () of a tackified sheet material movably secured between rollers () on the device () that enable the web () to be moved over the surface in opposite directions. The device () includes a supply roller () and a take-up roller () secured to opposed ends of the web () of adhesive sheet material, with at least one roller () including a biasing mechanism () disposed within the roller (). The web () can be engaged with the surface by passing over a number of idler rollers () positioned between the supply roller () and take-up roller (). The biasing mechanism () is designed to bias the movement of the web () onto the take-up roller (), such that the mechanism () can be selectively operated to advance the web () from the supply roller () to the take-up roller () to expose a clean section of the adhesive sheet material (). A mechanism () is also connected between the rollers () to enable the rollers () to rotate in a synchronous manner, regardless of the amount of the web () that is positioned on the rollers () to continually tension the web () a proper amount.

Connector For Use In Single And Double Breast Pumping

View page
US Patent:
7824361, Nov 2, 2010
Filed:
Oct 13, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/580465
Inventors:
Mark A. Luzbetak - Kildeer IL, US
Thomas A. Sutrina - Rockford IL, US
Assignee:
Medela Holding AG - Baar
International Classification:
A61M 1/06
US Classification:
604 74
Abstract:
The connector of the present invention provides fewer connections and attachments to a breastpump configured for expressing breast milk from both of a woman's breasts simultaneously, thereby facilitating easier use of the breast pump and yielding fewer pieces for the user to carry or misplace. The connector includes a manifold with four ports. Individual tubes extend from three of the four ports and each has a plug member. One tube engages with a vacuum source and the remaining two tubes engage with a breastshield assembly for double breast pumping. When single breastpumping is desired, one of the two tubes connected to the breastpump assemblies is disconnected and engaged with the dock port of the manifold.

Apr 11, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/786364
Inventors:
Carr Lane Quackenbush - Prairie Grove IL, US
Michael Dettling - Woodstock IL, US
Mark A. Luzbetak - Kildeer IL, US
Brian H. Silver - Cary IL, US
Thomas A. Sutrina - Rockford IL, US
Peter E. Hartmann - Gooseberry Hill, AU
Leon R. Mitoulas - Cham, CH
Donna T. Geddes - Dianella, AU
Jacqueline C. Kent - Nedlands, AU
Assignee:
Medela Holding AG - Baar
International Classification:
A61M 1/06
US Classification:
604 74
Abstract:
A breastpump, manual or motorized, that includes a mechanism to regulate pressure change, e. g. , vacuum, within a breastshield chamber, including in some cases to a maintained minimum pressure that is less than ambient (atmosphere). The pressure regulator provides control for varying negative pressure between a minimum value and a maximum value (and values in between), or to achieve a specific actually measured negative pressure value within a breastshield.

Self Returning Contamination Barrier

US Patent:
8187227, May 29, 2012
Filed:
Nov 1, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/591276
Inventors:
Mark A. Luzbetak - Kildeer IL, US
Thomas A. Sutrina - Rockford IL, US
Erich Pfenniger - Ebikon, CH
Patrik Bosshard - Buonas, CH
Assignee:
Medela Holding AG - Baar
International Classification:
A61M 37/00
US Classification:
604141, 6048921, 604 74, 604 75, 604310, 604316, 604323, 261 692, 92 48, 92 49, 92 50, 92 96, 92 98 R
Abstract:
A barrier of a vacuum pump prevents contamination from entering a vacuum pump air line. The barrier separates parts of the pump and is moveable between an initial state and a distended state. The barrier is assembled within the pump with a pre-load. When the vacuum source is applied to the barrier, the barrier achieves a distended state and when the vacuum source is released, the barrier incrementally self returns to an initial state. The geometry and material construction of the barrier, along with the pre-load, assists in returning the barrier on its own to the initial state from the distended state.
