Highly Stable Integrated Time Reference

View page
US Patent:
6882235, Apr 19, 2005
Filed:
Oct 28, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/695180
Inventors:
Mike Kappes - San Diego CA, US
Terje Gloerstad - San Diego CA, US
Assignee:
Broadcom Corporation - Irvine CA
International Classification:
H03B005/20
US Classification:
331135, 331 36 C, 331111, 331137
Abstract:
An integrated oscillator that may be used as a time clock includes circuitry that oscillates about an RC time constant, which RC time constant is adjustable to provide a desired frequency of oscillation. More specifically, the oscillator includes a capacitor array that has a plurality of capacitors coupled in parallel wherein each capacitor may be selectively included into the RC time constant or selectively excluded there from. Rather than setting the capacitance values to a desired capacitance value, a system for adjusting the time constant includes circuitry for measuring an output frequency and for comparing that to a certified frequency source wherein the time constant is adjusted by adding or removing capacitors from the capacitor array until the frequency of the internal clock matches an expected frequency.

Systems And Methods Of Data Mapping From Multiple Devices For Driving Performance Product Systems

View page
US Patent:
20140095211, Apr 3, 2014
Filed:
Mar 15, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/835381
Inventors:
Terje Gloerstad - Scottsdale AZ, US
Kevin West - Phoenix AZ, US
Paul Wise - Mesa AZ, US
International Classification:
G06Q 40/08
US Classification:
705 4
Abstract:
Systems and methods of normalizing and aggregating data from vehicle devices. Another embodiment combines data readings into vehicle trips for further processing.

Systems And Methods For Providing Quality Of Service For Data Supporting A Driving Performance Product

View page
US Patent:
20140095212, Apr 3, 2014
Filed:
Mar 15, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/839681
Inventors:
Terje Gloerstad - Scottsdale AZ, US
Kevin West - Phoenix AZ, US
Paul Rice - Mesa AZ, US
International Classification:
G06Q 40/08
US Classification:
705 4
Abstract:
Quality of Service (QOS) systems and methods to determine the likelihood that a packet of information transmitted by an OBD, mobile, or other telematics device meets user requirements for accuracy, reliability, and quality of data suitable for a driving performance product, such as, for example, the implementation and modification of a usage based insurance (UBI) or behavior based insurance (BBI) or self-insurance program. Methods are established for determining when and how to display data to each constituent, including policyholders, insurance actuaries, and insurance carrier customer service staff. The QOS data may also be provided to OEM and GPS device manufacturers for the purpose of improving the performance of their software and devices. The QOS system analyzes the amount of time it takes to send and receive a packet of information, the performance of the GPS module and satellites, the presence or absence of data that is based on set conditions, performance metrics relative to key UBI or BBI variables, and self-tests on GPS or OEM hardware.

System And Method For Coordinating Transactions

View page
US Patent:
20140095213, Apr 3, 2014
Filed:
Mar 15, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/841203
Inventors:
Shaun Michael Gwilliam - Gloucestshire, GB
Terje Gloerstad - Scottsdale AZ, US
David R. McEldowney - Gold Canyon AZ, US
Robert M. Wilkison - Scottsdale AZ, US
International Classification:
G06Q 40/08
US Classification:
705 4
Abstract:
An integration system comprises a transaction hub electronically communicating with a compatibility server. The transaction hub receives initial data including a transaction code. The transaction hub transmits vehicle identification data to the compatibility server based on the transaction code. The compatibility server identifies a vehicle based on the vehicle identification data, identifies any potential devices compatible with the vehicle, and identifies one of the potential devices based, at least in part, on prior feedback of at least one compatibility parameter. The compatibility server transmits device identifying data to the transaction hub.

Systems And Methods For Providing A Driving Performance Platform

View page
US Patent:
20140095214, Apr 3, 2014
Filed:
Mar 15, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/841787
Inventors:
Robert E. Mathe - Sarasota FL, US
Terje Gloerstad - Scottsdale AZ, US
Robert M. Wilkison - Scottsdale AZ, US
International Classification:
G06Q 40/08
US Classification:
705 4
Abstract:
Systems and methods of providing a platform for a driving performance application. The platform includes receiving data associated with driving performance of a driver, where the driver is associated with a client of the platform, analyzing the data to determine a measure of driving performance, and reporting the measure of driving performance to the client. The platform interfaces with the native systems of the client to provide an integrated insurance platform capable of implementing and managing a driving performance product, such as a usage-based insurance product.
