Strapless Flexible Tribo-Charged Respiratory Facial Mask And Method

View page
US Patent:
20080110469, May 15, 2008
Filed:
Nov 13, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/598321
Inventors:
Stanley Weinberg - Los Angeles CA, US
International Classification:
A62B 18/08
A62B 23/00
US Classification:
128863, 12820625
Abstract:
A facial mask for filtering ambient air is formed from a pre-form of a multilayer flexible flat filter member of a size to extend over the mouth and nostrils of the user. The flat pre-form filter member can have an ovoid perimeter with an endless band of a hypoallergenic adhesive tape encircling a perimeter of the filter member and operable for sealing with the user's skin to prevent leakage over extended use. Portions of the adhesive tape can self-seal during a sizing step to form structural paths for maintaining a central concavity to ensure a large filtration area offset from the nostrils and mouth of the user. The flexible filter material can further include an activated carbon layer.

Strapless Cantilevered Respiratory Mask Sealable To A User's Face And Method

View page
US Patent:
20090277451, Nov 12, 2009
Filed:
Jul 20, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/506106
Inventors:
Stanley Weinberg - Los Angeles CA, US
International Classification:
A62B 7/10
US Classification:
12820614, 12820616
Abstract:
A facial mask for filtering ambient air is formed from a pre-form of a multilayer flexible flat filter member with solid plastic side ribs of a size to extend the filter member over the mouth and nostrils of the user. The flat pre-form filter member can have a trapezoidal perimeter with an endless band of a hypoallergenic adhesive tape encircling a perimeter opening of the filter member and operable for sealing with the user's skin to prevent leakage over extended use. Portions of the adhesive tape can self-seal to form a structural base for maintaining a central concavity by cantilevering the side ribs to ensure a large filtration area offset from the nostrils and mouth of the user. The flexible filter material can further include an activated carbon layer.

Miniature Air Purifier

View page
US Patent:
54844720, Jan 16, 1996
Filed:
Feb 6, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/384511
Inventors:
Stanley Weinberg - Los Angeles CA
International Classification:
B03C 332
US Classification:
96 26
Abstract:
A small, battery-powered air purifier can be clipped to a wearer's front shirt pocket or worn suspended from a cord about the wearer's neck. The device includes a housing containing a compact circuit that transforms direct current provided by the battery into a negative high voltage pulsating current which is connected to a sharp metal point contained within a chamber inside the hollow housing. A corona discharge forms on the sharp point, ionizing air molecules and any particulates, and generating ozone. An opening into the chamber is covered by a noncorrosive metal grid connected to the positive terminal of the battery. The negative ions are attracted to this grid, thereby completing an electrical circuit. Movement of the ions to the grid results in mass movement of air which causes a stream of air to emerge through the grid. As the air passes the grid, negatively charged particulates are deposited on the grid.

Corona Discharge Device For Destruction Of Airborne Microbes And Chemical Toxins

View page
US Patent:
60426373, Mar 28, 2000
Filed:
Sep 28, 1998
Appl. No.:
9/161803
Inventors:
Stanley Weinberg - Los Angeles CA
International Classification:
B03C 332
US Classification:
96 58
Abstract:
A miniature air purifier produces a corona discharge surrounding a needle-like emitter point connected to a negative DC power supply. The power supply operates from a nine volt battery and contains a step-up voltage inverter having a single transformer outputting high voltage spikes with a voltage multiplier operating on the output of the inverter. The production of high voltage spikes of about 200 Hz rather than a sinusoidally varying voltage significantly reduces current consumption. The needle-like emitter point is located about 1/4-inch from an 80% open mesh metallic grid held at ground potential. Corona discharge at the emitter point ionizes the air and creates ozone, and nitric oxide both of which combine with direct electron impact decomposition to detoxify and destroy a wide variety of airborne pollutants including pathogens, chemicals and allergens. The grid attracts negatively ionized air molecules thereby creating a flow of purified air out of the device and also provides a surface for electroprecipitation of ionized particulates. An alternative embodiment of the present invention can combine a series of emitter points in a sterilizer to provide a microbial neutralization in the food service industry.

Multi-Channel Micropower Communication Link

View page
US Patent:
44828950, Nov 13, 1984
Filed:
Apr 5, 1982
Appl. No.:
6/365657
Inventors:
Stanley Weinberg - Los Angeles CA
Assignee:
Wein Products, Inc. - Los Angeles CA
International Classification:
H04Q 910
US Classification:
34082569
Abstract:
A remote controlling apparatus comprising a transmitter including a pulse generating circuit the output of which is a plurality of pulses of radiant energy having an envelope of a selected pulse width and a selected pulse interval and a receiver including an envelope detection circuit, the output of which is a plurality of pulses each having the selected pulse width and having the selected pulse interval of the transmitted radiant energy, concidence pulse generating means for generating coincidence pulses responsive to transitions in the output pulses from the envelope detection circuit, with one such coincidence pulse being generated at a selected time after a transition in each such output pulse and one being generated in coincidence with a transition in each such output pulse, the selected time being selected such that coincidence of the generated coincidence pulses will only occur when the output of the envelope detection circuit has a selected pulse width, and coincidence detection coupled to a triggering circuit for triggering the triggering circuit in response to a pre-selected number of detected coincidences of the coincidence pulses in a pre-selected time period.

Flash Triggering System

View page
US Patent:
54365317, Jul 25, 1995
Filed:
Nov 23, 1994
Appl. No.:
8/343847
Inventors:
Stanley Weinberg - Los Angeles CA
International Classification:
H05B 3700
US Classification:
315241P
Abstract:
A flash triggering system inductively coupled to a flash tube assembly's flash tube of a through-the-lens (TTL) strobe unit. The flash trigger monitors the electromagnetic field directly surrounding the strobe to which it is affixed using an electromagnetic inductive sensor. The photographic flash trigger is positioned by the mounting mechanism adjacent the flash tube so that the flash monitor detector is responsive to the excitation of a flash tube. The detector provides a detection signal indicative of whether or not the flash tube properly fired. A delay circuit delays any response for a predetermined time to allow for the main TTL flash cycle. Then, the activation circuit enables a separate transmitter to trigger the slave strobes while the camera shutter is still open.
