Public Health Data Exchange Bridge And Post Office

View page
US Patent:
20130318111, Nov 28, 2013
Filed:
May 25, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/480835
Inventors:
Matthew A. Davis - San Jose CA, US
James H. Kaufman - San Jose CA, US
Sondra R. Renly - Elmsford NY, US
John T.E. Timm - San Jose CA, US
Assignee:
INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION - Armonk NY
International Classification:
G06F 19/00
US Classification:
707756
Abstract:
A system facilitates management of public health data. The system includes an input interface, a policy data structure, a notification compliance engine, and a data translator. The input interface receives input data content descriptive of a public health event. The policy data structure stores reporting conditions for a plurality of public health jurisdictions. The notification compliance engine reviews at least some of the reporting conditions of the policy data structure and identifies a relevant reporting condition for the input data content. The data translator derives and arranges output data content based on the input data content according to the relevant reporting condition identified by the notification compliance engine.

Method To Transform Clinician Order Entry

View page
US Patent:
20110137679, Jun 9, 2011
Filed:
Dec 9, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/633832
Inventors:
Daniel A. Ford - Mount Kisco NY, US
Sondra R. Renly - Elmsford NY, US
Assignee:
International Business Machines Corporation - Armonk NY
International Classification:
G06Q 50/00
US Classification:
705 3
Abstract:
A computer-implemented method receives, into a computerized system, routine electronic transmissions such as a clinician order entry (CPOE) order message relating to a patient. The order message is used to identify one of a number of pre-established templates to create an individualized wellness plan. The method identifies data variables that need to be supplied for the wellness plan and identifies patient documentation related to the wellness plan. The method supplies the data variables and combines patient documentation into the wellness plan. The method identifies and includes dependency-awareness of tasks, reminders, and appointments within and across wellness plans. The method can customize the wellness plan according to clinician preferences and patient preferences, and can restrict access and content of the wellness plan. The method provides the wellness plan to the patient through their preferred interactive calendar application and obtains the remaining data variables, performs across plan dependency checks, and obtains the patient preferences from the patient through the interactive calendar application. This allows the method to provide the patient a list of tasks, reminders, and appointments through the interactive calendar application and enables both clinician and patient to track plan progress and completion.

Proactive Simulation And Detection Of Outbreaks Based On Product Data

View page
US Patent:
20140365270, Dec 11, 2014
Filed:
Jun 10, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/914039
Inventors:
- Armonk NY, US
Stefan Bengt Edlund - San Jose CA, US
Hu Kun - San Jose CA, US
James H. Kaufman - San Jose CA, US
Sondra Ronee Renly - Elmsford NY, US
Daniel Dörr - Ravensberger, DE
International Classification:
G06Q 10/06
US Classification:
705 728
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention relate to proactive computer simulation of portable product failures, and more specifically, to determining the likely cause of an outbreak of foodborne disease or other geographically distributed symptoms of a failure or contamination of a portable product. In one embodiment, a method of and computer program product for simulating portable product failures is provided. Data regarding the locations of consumers of a portable product within a geographic region is received from a data store. A probability density map is determined from the data, indicating where the portable product is likely to be consumed within the geographical region. For each of a plurality of simulated failures of the portable product, the locations of a plurality of simulated incidents arising from the simulated failure are determined. From the locations of the plurality of simulated incidents and the probability density map, the number of incidents necessary to identify the portable product to a predetermined certainty is determined.
