View page
US Patent:
20190276656, Sep 12, 2019
Filed:
May 17, 2016
Appl. No.:
16/302539
Inventors:
- St. Paul MN, US
Dale E. Hutchens - Huntsville, AL
Harald Kaspar - Burgkirchen, DE
Karl D. Weilandt - Afton MN, US
Shireen A. Mamun - Woodbury MN, US
International Classification:
C08L 27/16
B29C 48/00
Abstract:
A composition includes a thermoplastic fluoropolymer having vinylidene fluoride units in an amount of at least 30 mole percent and tetrafluoroethylene units in an amount of at least 5 mole percent. The thermoplastic fluoropolymer is free of hexafluoropropylene units or comprises less than 5 mole percent hexafluoropropylene units. The composition further includes at least one of a non-fluorinated, thermoplastic polymer as a major component of the composition or a polymer processing additive synergist. A method of reducing melt defects during the extrusion of a polymer is also provided. Use of the thermoplastic fluoropolymer as a polymer processing additive is also provided.

US Patent:
20170342245, Nov 30, 2017
Filed:
Dec 17, 2015
Appl. No.:
15/537506
Inventors:
- St. Paul MN, US
Shireen A. Mamun - Woodbury MN, US
International Classification:
C08L 23/06
Abstract:
A poly(oxyalkylene) polymer having a weight average molecular weight of at least 50,000 grams per mole and a metal salt of a carboxylic acid, sulfonic acid, or alkylsulfate, in combination are useful as a polymer processing additive. In some embodiments, the polymer processing additive further includes a poly(oxyalkylene) polymer having a weight average molecular weight of up to 20,000 grams per mole Polymer processing additive compositions and thermoplastic, for example, polyolefm, compositions including a poly(oxyalkylene) polymer and a metal salt of a carboxylic acid, sulfonic acid, or alkylsulfate are disclosed. Methods of reducing melt defects during the extrusion of a thermoplastic polymer, which may be a homogeneously catalyzed polyolefin, are also disclosed.

Inventors:
- Saint Paul MN, US
Shireen A. Mamun - Woodbury MN, US
International Classification:
C08L 23/06
B29C 47/86
B29C 47/00
B29C 47/80
Abstract:
A poly(oxyalkylene) polymer and a metal salt of a carboxylic acid, sulfonic acid, or alkylsulfate, in combination are useful as a polymer processing additive synergist. Polymer processing additive compositions, homogeneously catalyzed olefin compositions, and other extrudable polymer compositions including a poly(oxyalkylene) polymer and a metal salt of a carboxylic acid, sulfonic acid, or alkylsulfate are disclosed. Methods of reducing melt defects during the extrusion of a thermoplastic polymer, which may be a homogeneously catalyzed polyolefin, are also disclosed.
