Abstract:
An apparatus is configured to be employed within a base station. The apparatus comprises baseband circuitry which includes a radio frequency (RF) interface and one or more processors. The one or more processors are configured to select one or more recovery channels based on one or more recovery factors; determine a beam recovery frame structure using the selected one or more recovery channels and based at least partially on beam correspondence capabilities; and provide the selected one or more recovery channels and the determined beam recovery frame structure to the RF interface for transmission to a user equipment (UE) device.

Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) can include processing circuitry configured to decode control information of a physical down-in link control channel (PDCCH) received via a resource within a control resource set (CORESET) occupying a subset of a plurality of e OFDM symbols within a slot. At least one of the symbols in the subset coincides with a pre-defined symbol location associated with a demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) of a PDSCH. The DM-RS can be detected within the slot, the DM-RS starting at a symbol 01 location that is shifted from the pre-defined symbol location and following the subset of symbols. Downlink data scheduled by thePDCCH and received via the PDSCH can be decoded, where the decoding is based on the detected DM-RS.

Abstract:
Techniques for transmitting and receiving beamformed transmission(s) of a common search space of a DL (Downlink) control channel are discussed. One example embodiment that can be employed at a UE (User Equipment) comprises processing circuitry configured to: select a set of receive beamforming weights for a DL (Downlink) control channel; and decode one or more control channel sets from a common search space of the DL control channel, wherein each control channel set of the one or more control channel sets is mapped to an associated symbol of one or more symbols of a slot, wherein each control channel set of the one or more control channel sets has an associated transmit beamforming, and wherein each control channel set of the one or more control channel sets comprises a common set of control information.

Abstract:
A method of support of aggressive user equipment (UE) minimum processing times for physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) processing and physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) preparation in new radio (NR) is disclosed. The method includes indicating or causing to indicate a capability from the UE to the network in the form of capability reporting for support of Capability 2 processing times, and multiplexing or causing to multiplex scheduling instances with Capabilities 1 or 2 based on the indication. The method also includes applying or causing to apply a relaxation to the minimum UE processing times, N1, indicating time between end of PDSCH to earliest start of corresponding hybrid automatic repeat request-acknowledge (HARQ-ACK) feedback transmission when the PDSCH has specific durations and/or mapping types or has time-domain overlaps with the scheduling physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). A corresponding apparatus and non-transitory computer readable medium are also disclosed.

Abstract:
An apparatus configured to be employed in a user equipment (UE) associated with a new radio (NR) system is disclosed. Abstract:
Techniques described herein allow for mobile positioning (i.e., the determination of the position of the UE) to be performed when the UE is in Idle mode. In some implementations, assistance data, that is used by the UE as part of the mobile positioning procedure, may be broadcast to the UE or transmitted to the UE within paging messages. The assistance data can potentially be sent to the UE in a number of time slots. In some implementations, the UE may perform measurements needed for mobile positioning only within discontinuous reception (DRX) occasions. Alternatively, in some implementations, the UE may perform measurements needed for mobile positioning outside of DRX occasions.
