Abstract:
The present invention is a gaming machine including a controller, which a) executes a primary game on a display, b) executes a secondary game in which a plurality of areas are defined on the display such that an award is allocated to at least one of the plurality of areas and when an area to which the award has been allocated is selected, a process according to the award is executed by the controller, and c) stores a result of the secondary game inclusive of information regarding the selected area so that the stored result of the secondary game is used in a next secondary game.

Gaming System And Method Of Providing An Electronic Game With Varying Volatility

View page
US Patent:
20130079104, Mar 28, 2013
Filed:
May 3, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/463186
Inventors:
Scott Delekta - Las Vegas NV, US
Assignee:
KONAMI GAMING, INC. - Las Vegas NV
International Classification:
A63F 9/24
US Classification:
463 20
Abstract:
A gaming machine and method provide electronic games to a player. A controller is configured to set a volatility factor to a first volatility value, set a number of plays to a first random number of games, and establish a counter of a number of games played. The controller is also configured to display a first instance of the game on a display device, randomly select an outcome of the first instance of the game, display the outcome on the display device, and award an award to the player as a function of the outcome of the first instance of the game and the volatility factor if the outcome of the first instance of the game is a winning outcome. The controller counts the number of games played and, if a predetermined number of games have been played, sets the volatility factor to another volatility value.

Gaming System And Method Of Providing An Electronic Game With A Scaling Factor

View page
US Patent:
20130084940, Apr 4, 2013
Filed:
May 15, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/471697
Inventors:
Arthur Lee - Las Vegas NV, US
Scott Delekta - Las Vegas NV, US
Assignee:
KONAMI GAMING, INC. - Las Vegas NV
International Classification:
A63F 13/10
A63F 13/00
US Classification:
463 20, 463 25, 463 16, 463 26
Abstract:
A gaming machine and method are provided which allow a player to play a gaming machine. The gaming machine and method allow a player to make a wager, display a first game on a display device, generate an outcome associated with the first game, and award the player an award for the first game based at least in part on the generated first game outcome. In addition, the gaming machine determines if a triggering condition occurred, displays a second game if the triggering condition has occurred, and calculates a current trigger cycle of the generated second game. The current trigger cycle is equal to a number of first games played after an occurrence of a previous second game triggering condition. The player is provided an award for the second game based at least in part on the second game current trigger cycle.

Electronic Gaming Device With Matrix Elements And User-Selectable Action Elements

View page
US Patent:
20220351578, Nov 3, 2022
Filed:
Sep 30, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/491243
Inventors:
- Las Vegas NV, US
Scott Delekta - Las Vegas NV, US
Assignee:
Aristocrat Technologies, Inc. - Las Vegas NV
International Classification:
G07F 17/32
G07F 17/34
Abstract:
Innovations in integrating a skill-based selection mechanism and a random number generator (“RNG”)-event-based mechanism in an electronic gaming device are described. For example, some of the innovations relate to integrating a skill-based selection mechanism and an RNG-event-based mechanism in an electronic gaming device that uses one or more sets of matrix elements and one or more sets of user-selectable action elements. User-selectable action elements are determined using RNG events. Matrix elements for a symbol matrix are also determined using RNG events. The action elements can be selectively applied, according to user input provided by a user, to change matrix elements (e.g., to “re-spin” one or more matrix elements, or to convert one or more matrix elements from one type to another type).

Electronic Gaming Machine And Method With Transformable Grid Pick Selections And Multi-State Reveal Mechanics

View page
US Patent:
20220189253, Jun 16, 2022
Filed:
Mar 8, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/689501
Inventors:
- Las Vegas NV, US
Scott Delekta - Las Vegas NV, US
International Classification:
G07F 17/32
Abstract:
A gaming machine comprising a plurality of grid positions, and a game controller to at least: randomly populate a plurality of grid positions with one of a plurality of grid symbols, receive one or more selections of the plurality of grid positions, resulting a plurality of unselected grid positions, reveal a plurality of unrevealed symbols at each of the plurality of grid positions selected, in response to a first grid position selected revealing the first symbol, repopulate the first grid position with one of a plurality of chance symbols including the first symbol and the second symbol, and in response to the first grid position selected revealing the second symbol, determine a first award based on the second symbol.

Dynamically Computing Progressive Feature Parameters For Selectable Volatility Pick Options In Random-Based Outcome Games

View page
US Patent:
20230068351, Mar 2, 2023
Filed:
Mar 31, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/710441
Inventors:
- Las Vegas NV, US
Scott Delekta - Las Vegas NV, US
International Classification:
G07F 17/32
Abstract:
The innovations herein balance return to player (RTP) between different selectable volatility pick options (e.g., different reel set sizes) when a variable progressive feature prize (e.g., a number of free games) is awarded, while reducing loading delays and maintaining smooth operation of the gaming device. A volatility pick gateway may dynamically determine an adjustment factor for the progressive feature prize associated with a selectable volatility pick option and dynamically modify weights for a weight table associated with the selected volatility pick option. As opposed to employing lookup tables for every combination of selectable volatility pick option (e.g., reel set size) and progressive feature prize value (e.g., number of free games), one or more weights for weight tables associated with the volatility pick options may be dynamically modified. In this way, the RTP for the default volatility pick option may approximately match the RTP for the other selectable volatility pick options.
