View page
US Patent:
7676250, Mar 9, 2010
Filed:
Jun 2, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/421837
Inventors:
Daniel S Rokusek - Long Grove IL, US
Sang Y Oh - Lake Zurich IL, US
David A Vanyek - Libertyville IL, US
Kevin L Weirich - Algonquin IL, US
Assignee:
Motorola, Inc. - Schaumburg IL
International Classification:
H04M 1/00
US Classification:
455570, 455 306, 4555691
Abstract:
A method () for controlling audio signals to an FM transmitter and a loudspeaker of a hands-free adapter first sends a first audio signal to the loudspeaker () and measures and records a loudspeaker audible artifact such as echo return loss () and/or echo tail length (). Next, the hands-free adapter sends a second audio signal to the FM transmitter and the loudspeaker () and measures and records an FM transmitter and loudspeaker audible artifact such as echo return loss () and/or echo tail length (). If the FM transmitter and loudspeaker audible artifact minus the loudspeaker audible artifact is greater than a threshold (), the hands-free adapter sends a third audio signal to the FM transmitter only (), and if the FM transmitter and loudspeaker audible artifact minus the loudspeaker audible artifact is not greater than the threshold, the hands-free adapter sends the third audio signal to both the FM transmitter and the loudspeaker ().

Network Pairing Of Wireless Communication Devices Through One Or More Intermediate Devices

View page
US Patent:
20070274270, Nov 29, 2007
Filed:
May 25, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/420301
Inventors:
Shawn Michael Jones - Cary IL, US
Jeremy Thomas Jobling - Deerfield IL, US
Sang Yoon Oh - Lake Zurich IL, US
Assignee:
MOTOROLA, INC. - LIBERTYVILLE IL
International Classification:
H04Q 7/24
US Classification:
370338
Abstract:
A system and method for network pairing with two or more wireless communication devices, in which each device includes a wireless transceiver. For each device, the wireless transceiver has indirect communication with the other communication device via a first ad hoc connection to an intermediate communication device, and is capable of direct communication with the other communication device via a second ad hoc connection. The wireless transceivers of the wireless communication devices exchange network address information needed for paired communication between the devices, thus minimizing the need to search and discovery for paired communication.

Modular Housing System

View page
US Patent:
58898590, Mar 30, 1999
Filed:
May 31, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/657877
Inventors:
Louis Lundell - Buffalo Grove IL
Sang Y. Oh - Schaumburg IL
Assignee:
Motorola, Inc. - Schaumburg IL
International Classification:
H04M 100
US Classification:
379428
Abstract:
A modular housing system (100) comprises a first housing unit (102), a second housing unit (104), and a clamp (600). The first housing unit (102) has a first bottom wall (610) and a first side wall (108). The second housing unit (104) has a second bottom wall (612) and a second side wall (116). The first housing unit (102) defines a first channel (702) which borders the first side wall (108) and includes an first opening (703) along the first bottom wall (610). The second housing unit (104) defines a second channel which borders the second side wall (116) and includes a second opening along the second bottom wall (612). The clamp (600) has a longitudinally extending U-shape defining a base (800), a first attachment wall (802), and a second attachment wall (804). For optionally attaching the first and second housing units (102, 104), the first attachment wall (802) insertably attaches within the first channel (702) and the second attachment wall (804) insertably attaches within the second channel.

Cordless Telephone Apparatus Switchable Between Desktop And Wall Mount

View page
US Patent:
57487278, May 5, 1998
Filed:
Nov 4, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/970965
Inventors:
Louis J. Lundell - Buffalo Grove IL
Sang Y. Oh - Schaumburg IL
Terron C. Newman - Country Club Hills IL
Assignee:
Motorola, Inc. - Schaumburg IL
International Classification:
H04M 100
US Classification:
379446
Abstract:
A telephone apparatus (100) includes a base (102) and a handset (104) configurable in a desktop mode and a wall mount mode. Spring loaded detents (132, 134) in the base (102) engage recesses in the handset (104) in wall mount mode to securely retain the handset (104) in a pocket (101) in the base. The base includes a switchable detent mechanism (170) for retracting the detents (132, 134) in response to an actuator (150) when the base (102) is switched from wall mount mode to desktop mode. Thus, the detents (132, 134) do not interfere with the handset (104) when the handset (104) is placed in or withdrawn from the pocket (101).

Apparatus For Ultrasonic Welding Of Battery Assemblies

View page
US Patent:
55989640, Feb 4, 1997
Filed:
Sep 29, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/536558
Inventors:
Kiron Gore - Libertyville IL
Sang Oh - Schaumburg IL
Assignee:
Motorola, Inc. - Schaumburg IL
International Classification:
B23K 2010
US Classification:
228 11
Abstract:
An unwelded battery assembly (32) is fed to a shuttle (36) which moves the unwelded battery assembly (32) to a moveable platform (46) in a raised position. The platform lowers the battery assembly into a nest (44) which rigidly supports the battery assembly. An ultrasonic horn is lowered into contact with the battery assembly and welds the battery cover (16) to the battery housing (14). The welded battery assembly (57) is then raised out of the nest by the moveable platform (46), and is moved to a second stage (48) while another unwelded battery assembly is shuttled to the platform. A central control circuit (49) operates and synchronizes the apparatus.
