Dual Transmitter Pet Confinement And Training System

View page
US Patent:
6415742, Jul 9, 2002
Filed:
Jul 3, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/609754
Inventors:
Thomas B. Lee - Seymour TN
Jesse E. Merritt - Jefferson City TN
Rungwit Sangsingkeow - Knoxville TN
Christopher E. Mainini - Knoxville TN
James L. Jameson - Knoxville TN
Assignee:
Radio Systems Corporation - Knoxville TN
International Classification:
A01K 1504
US Classification:
119721, 119720, 119719
Abstract:
A system for confining and training a pet is provided. The system includes a stationary transmitter in communication with a receiver collar worn by a pet and the other configured as a portable transmitter for controlling the operation of the stationary transmitter. The stationary transmitter includes a correction signal generator and a warning signal generator which feed an amplifier having an adjustable amplification factor controlled by a processing device. The amplified correction signal is transmitted through the wire loop antenna via a transmitter. The normal confinement mode operation of the system is interrupted by a training signal from the portable transmitter. Upon receipt of a training signal, the processing device produces a signal corresponding to the desired deterrent signal and increases the gain of the appropriate amplifier thereby boosting the signal strength such that the entire confinement area is filled with the desired deterrent signal.

G08B023/00
A01K015/04
US Classification:
343867, 3405733, 119721
Abstract:
A proximity detection system for determining when a single channel receiver becomes proximate to any point on a wireless closed boundary continuously generated by a transmitter. The transmitter includes a magnetic field generator broadcasting a composite, modulated, time-varying magnetic field signal of a particular carrier frequency. The receiver forms a measure of the broadcast magnetic field intensity incident to the location of the receiver or a measure of the power or energy of incident field.

US Patent:
7111586, Sep 26, 2006
Filed:
Apr 2, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/817602
Inventors:
Thomas Brandon Lee - Seymour TN, US
Rungwit Sangsingkeow - Knoxville TN, US
Assignee:
Radio Systems Corporation - Knoxville TN
International Classification:
A01K 15/02
US Classification:
119719, 119720, 119908, 3405733
Abstract:
An apparatus for an animal training device including audible and electrical stimulation. A transmitting unit provides control signals to a receiving unit, which includes a receiver, a processor, and a switch connected to a transformer and electrodes. The processor provides signals that result in varying voltages that produce electrical pulses of varying voltage levels, which are applied at the electrodes and provide electrical stimulation of an animal for training.

US Patent:
7656291, Feb 2, 2010
Filed:
Feb 1, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/670278
Inventors:
James M. Rochelle - Knoxville TN, US
Robert G. Jackson - Knoxville TN, US
Rungwit Sangsingkeow - Knoxville TN, US
Randal D. Boyd - Knoxville TN, US
Assignee:
Radio Systems Corporation - Knoxville TN
International Classification:
G08B 1/08
US Classification:
34053913, 34053911
Abstract:
Described is a boundary proximity determining system for wirelessly defining a boundary having a programmable shape and for indicating the occurrence of a rover unit traversing the boundary. The boundary proximity determining system includes a base station unit that generates a plurality of magnetic fields. The boundary proximity determining system also includes a rover unit that is responsive to the generated magnetic fields such that the rover unit defines the boundary in terms of the intensities and polarities of the magnetic fields. The rover unit determines whether the rover unit is within or outside the boundary by determining the current location of the rover unit in terms of the intensities and polarities of the magnetic fields and comparing the current location to the boundary.

Electronic Animal Deterrent For Protecting An Area

US Patent:
61916935, Feb 20, 2001
Filed:
Mar 7, 2000
Appl. No.:
9/520679
Inventors:
Rungwit Sangsingkeow - Knoxville TN
Assignee:
Radio Systems Corporation - Knoxville TN
International Classification:
G08B 2300
US Classification:
3405733
Abstract:
An animal deterrent system for protecting a specific area. The animal deterrent system includes an infrared detection system for determining when an animal enters the protected area and an electromagnetic field (EMF) generator for communicating with a stimulus delivery system disposed on a collar worn by the pet. The stimulus delivery system produces a non-lethal electrostatic shock which encourages the pet to leave the protected area.
