Oil Pan Assembly And Method Of Selecting An Oil Pan

View page
US Patent:
20050133306, Jun 23, 2005
Filed:
Dec 17, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/738766
Inventors:
Ronald Lochocki - Ypsilanti MI, US
International Classification:
F16N031/00
US Classification:
184106000
Abstract:
A transmission oil pan assembly includes an oil pan matable with a transmission case to at least partially define a transmission interior space, and an accessing component for accessing an interior component located inside of the transmission interior space from outside of the transmission interior space. The oil pan is formed with structure adapted to support the accessing component. The oil pan may be formed with an opening adapted to receive the accessing component. A method of selecting an oil pan from an inventory of oil pans with differently disposed accessing components is also provided.

Pressure Control System For A Torque-Transmitting Mechanism

View page
US Patent:
20070028760, Feb 8, 2007
Filed:
Aug 5, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/198251
Inventors:
Ronald Lochocki - Ypsilanti MI, US
Robert Moses - Ann Arbor MI, US
Shushan Bai - Ann Arbor MI, US
International Classification:
F15B 13/044
US Classification:
091459000
Abstract:
The present invention provides a pressure control system having a control solenoid with plurality of coils disposed therein, and operable to provide a plurality of pressure gain characteristics to a torque-transmitting mechanism. By selectively energizing the individual coils or a combination thereof, multiple pressure gains may be achieved with a minimum of additional system hardware.

Pressure Regulation In An Automatic Transmission

View page
US Patent:
20070220879, Sep 27, 2007
Filed:
Mar 24, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/388919
Inventors:
Ronald Lochocki - Ypsilanti MI, US
Robert Moses - Ann Arbor MI, US
International Classification:
F16D 31/02
US Classification:
060459000
Abstract:
A pressure regulating system for a power transmission includes a pressure regulating valve to issue a pressure signal to a load and also a pressure signal to a pressure transducer for feedback to a transmission control module (TCM) which in turn suggests the output pressure of the regulator valve to a desired level in accordance with a pressure command originally issued by the transmission control module. This system provides a closed-loop control for pressure regulation.

Vibration Detection And Mitigation In A Vehicle

View page
US Patent:
20130332039, Dec 12, 2013
Filed:
Jun 7, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/490619
Inventors:
Ronald F. Lochocki - Ypsilanti MI, US
Kenneth K. Lang - Saline MI, US
Assignee:
GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLC - Detroit MI
International Classification:
F16H 61/00
US Classification:
701 60
Abstract:
A method of controlling a vehicle includes detecting vibration in a drivetrain of the vehicle with a fore/aft accelerometer during a launch event. An operating regime of the vehicle is identified concurrently with the detected vibration when the detected vibration is outside a predefined allowable range. A control strategy of the drivetrain is adjusted to define a revised control strategy to avoid the identified operating regime. The revised control strategy is applied to control the drivetrain to mitigate vibration in the drivetrain.
