Air Data Stall Protection System

View page
US Patent:
20080147255, Jun 19, 2008
Filed:
Dec 18, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/958791
Inventors:
Steve F. Alwin - St. Paul MN, US
Ronald Fritz Liffrig - Prior Lake MN, US
Mathew L. Sandnas - Lakeville MN, US
Assignee:
ROSEMOUNT AEROSPACE INC. - Burnsville MN
International Classification:
B64C 19/00
US Classification:
701 14
Abstract:
An electronic multi-function probe (MFP) is provided for positioning adjacent an aircraft skin. The electronic MFP includes a plurality of pressure sensing ports and an electronics housing. Positioned within the electronics housing are air data processing circuitry and stall protection system processing circuitry. The air data processing circuitry is configured to generate air data parameters, including airspeed and altitude, as a function of pressures at the plurality of pressure sensing ports. The stall protection system processing circuitry of the electronic MFP is configured to detect stall conditions as a function of angle of attack and at least one air data parameter from the air data processing circuitry, and to generate stall protection system outputs indicative of the detected stall conditions.

US Patent:
20190094256, Mar 28, 2019
Filed:
Sep 21, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/138493
Inventors:
- Burnsville MN, US
Ronald Fritz Liffrig - Prior Lake MN, US
Jaime Sly - Savage MN, US
Benjamin John Langemo - Shakopee MN, US
International Classification:
G01P 5/26
G01P 5/14
G01F 1/86
Abstract:
A system for an aircraft includes a pneumatic sensor, an optical sensor, and a computer system. The pneumatic sensor is configured to sense a value external to the aircraft. The optical sensor is configured to emit an optical signal external to the aircraft and receive an optical response. The computer system is configured to receive the value and the optical response. The pneumatic sensor and the optical sensor do not extend beyond a boundary layer of the aircraft.

US Patent:
20160305802, Oct 20, 2016
Filed:
Apr 17, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/689966
Inventors:
- Burnsville MN, US
Ronald F. Liffrig - Prior Lake MN, US
Assignee:
Rosemount Aerospace Inc. - Burnsville MN
International Classification:
G01F 1/46
B64D 45/00
Abstract:
An air data system includes an avionics system and a plurality of sensors associated with the avionics system, each of the sensors providing a signal indicative of a parameter used by the avionic system to determine the flight status of the aircraft. At least one air data probe is electronically coupled to the avionics system. At least one pitot static probe is coupled to a pressure transducer through pneumatic tubing, the pressure transducer is electronically coupled to the avionics system.
