Filed:
Jan 27, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/694511
Inventors:
Mark D. Hess - Plano TX, US
Roger C. Hundt - Carrollton TX, US
Stephen A. Walter - Flower Mound TX, US
Assignee:
Lennox Industries Inc. - Richardson TX
International Classification:
G05B 13/00
G05D 23/00
US Classification:
700276, 700278
Abstract:
An HVAC controller, a method of operating a HVAC unit and a HVAC system are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, the HVAC controller includes: (1) an interface configured to receive both a latent cooling demand and a sensible cooling demand and (2) a processor configured to direct both a dehumidification function and a cooling function when simultaneously processing both the latent cooling demand and the sensible cooling demand, the dehumidification function based on an operating capacity of an indoor air blower system.

US Patent:
20100298982, Nov 25, 2010
Filed:
Jan 27, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/694392
Inventors:
Carlos O. Chamorro - Plano TX, US
Roger C. Hundt - Carrollton TX, US
John P. Stachler - Plano TX, US
Stephen A. Walter - Flower Mound TX, US
Assignee:
Lennox Industries, Incorporated - Richardson TX
International Classification:
G05B 15/00
F25B 39/04
F25B 1/10
US Classification:
700276, 62507, 62510
Abstract:
An HVAC controller, a method of operating an HVAC controller and an HVAC system employing the controller or the method. In one embodiment, the HVAC controller includes: (1) a processor couplable to at least two refrigerant pressure sensors via separate data paths to receive input signals therefrom and further couplable to a compressor stage and a condenser fan to provide output signals thereto and (2) memory coupled to the processor and configured to store a software program capable of causing the processor to command the compressor stage and the condenser fan to turn on irrespective of a state of an input signal generated by either of the at least two refrigerant pressure sensors and generate alternative error messages at least partially depending upon whether or not a high pressure shutdown occurs after the processor commands the compressor stage and the fan to turn on.

Heat Sink Mounting

US Patent:
45218277, Jun 4, 1985
Filed:
Jan 12, 1983
Appl. No.:
6/457409
Inventors:
William D. Jordan - Dallas TX
Roger C. Hundt - Carrollton TX
James D. Pritchett - Plano TX
Assignee:
Thermalloy, Inc. - Dallas TX
International Classification:
H05K 720
F28F 700
US Classification:
361386
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods and apparatus for attaching a heat sink mounted semiconductor case to a circuit board employing a stud with a flange near one end. The longer shank is threaded and at least the shorter shank or head stud is tin-plated. The stud may be swaged into a mounting hole in the heat sink and the heat sink and semiconductor case pre-assembled. The pre-assembled unit may then be mounted and soldered to the circuit board along with other circuit components.

Variable Speed Blower Control For Hvac Systems

View page
US Patent:
20200011579, Jan 9, 2020
Filed:
Jul 6, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/029175
Inventors:
- Richardson TX, US
Roger Hundt - Carrollton TX, US
International Classification:
F25B 49/02
F24F 11/46
F24F 11/64
Abstract:
A temperature control system that includes a sensor, a variable speed blower, and a controller. The controller is configured to receive an air temperature measurement from the sensor and determine a temperature value based on the received air temperature measurement. The controller is further configured to compare the determined temperature value to a first threshold value and a second threshold value and to operate the variable speed blower based on the comparison. The controller is configured to set the variable speed blower to a first fan speed when the temperature value is below the first threshold value and to a second fan speed when the temperature value is above the second threshold value. The controller is further configured to set the variable speed blower to a third fan speed that linearly correlates with temperature when the temperature value is between the first threshold and the second threshold.

US Patent:
20190226709, Jul 25, 2019
Filed:
Jan 24, 2018
Appl. No.:
15/879140
Inventors:
- Richardson TX, US
Roger Hundt - Carrollton TX, US
Colin Clara - Frisco TX, US
Eric Perez - Hickory Creek TX, US
International Classification:
F24F 11/49
F24F 11/63
F24F 11/65
F25B 49/02
Abstract:
A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system is configured to receive a signal from a thermostat. The signal instructs the HVAC system to operate a component in a partial load mode. The HVAC system is further configured to determine that the component has exceeded its operating envelope. In response to determining that the component has exceeded its operating envelope, the HVAC system is configured to operate the component according to an override configuration. The override configuration overrides the signal to operate the component in the partial load mode.
