Abstract:
Multiple air conditioners in a paint booth temperature control system. The multiple air conditioners are algorithmically linked (“ganged”) to effect a routine wherein one conditioner is continuously operating during an operational demand phase, or cycle, of the booth. All of the air conditioners have an independent temperature sensor that is placed discretely in the air stream so that between the sensor physical placements there is effectively established a differential that is applied by the automatic control system to maintain a comfortable difference between the booth coolest and warmest work environments. Multiple air conditioners, operating as disclosed, serve to achieve optimum comfort for workers, while reducing original equipment recovery and down times by at least 80%. The operational routine at ambient temperatures above 70 F. is: [at least one conditioner running-other(s) running or off] OR [two (or more) running].
