Reusable Lid And Container

View page
US Patent:
6851569, Feb 8, 2005
Filed:
Apr 22, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/127287
Inventors:
Rino Conti - Stoughton MA, US
Mark J. Keyes - Westford MA, US
Assignee:
Plastican, Inc. - Leominster MA
International Classification:
B65D041/06
US Classification:
220297, 220300, 220788, 220790, 220281, 220780, 220293, 215216, 215330, 215332
Abstract:
The combination of a reusable lid and a container, the lid being provided with locking tabs and the container being provided with openings designed to accept the locking tabs and to make an interlocking connection by relatively rotating the lid and container. A latch element is formed on the lid for engagement with one of a plurality of cooperating catch elements formed on the container. The engaged catch element prevents removal of the lid from the container until the latch element is depressed inwardly far enough to allow the lid to be turned to a position in which the tabs may be removed from the openings.

Tamper-Evident Container

View page
US Patent:
6926165, Aug 9, 2005
Filed:
Apr 14, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/413543
Inventors:
Rino Conti - Stoughton MA, US
Assignee:
Plastican, Inc. - Leominster MA
International Classification:
B65D041/04
B65D050/00
B65D045/22
US Classification:
220288, 220269, 220302, 220326, 215 47, 215216, 215217, 215220, 215221, 215223, 215253, 215321
Abstract:
The combination of a container and a screw-type lid is improved by a tamper-evident feature comprising a locking tab on the exterior of the container having upwardly facing teeth and mating teeth on the lid, the teeth on the container and lid being arranged so as be slidable relative to one another while in mutual engagement when the lid is rotated in one direction and to lock to one another when the lid is urged to rotate in an opposite direction. The tab is tearable to terminate the locking action, thereby evidencing tampering. A catch member formed on the container is positioned to engage and cam one of several latch lugs formed on the lid, whereby to establish a locking action with that latch lug. The catch member prevents removal of the lid from the container until the engaged latch lug is pressed inwardly far enough for it to be released from the catch member, whereupon the lid may be unscrewed from the container.

Sandwich Preparation And Storage Container Set

View page
US Patent:
45950997, Jun 17, 1986
Filed:
Feb 1, 1985
Appl. No.:
6/697284
Inventors:
John V. Zaruba - Chicago IL
Howard J. Morrison - Deerfield IL
Rino Conti - Stoughton MA
Assignee:
Marvin Glass & Associates - Chicago IL
International Classification:
B65D 8560
B65D 8578
US Classification:
206525
Abstract:
An ice cream sandwich preparation and storage container set with open top shells having partial bottom walls defining a central aperture. Substantially conforming with the bottom of the shell is an insert disk that effectively seals the aperture while forming a base for the ice cream and cookie sandwich. The bottom periphery of the shell is formed with a flange that fits over the upper rim of another similar container so that the bottom of one container may act as the sealing cover for an underlying container. When it is desired to consume one of the previously prepared and stored sandwiches it may be easily extracted from the container by, after removing the cover, pushing up on the insert disk through the aperture with a thumb or forefinger.
