Filed:
Jul 17, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/646459
Inventors:
- Baytown TX, US
James M. Farley - League City TX, US
Bruce J. Savatsky - Kingwood TX, US
Richard E. Pequeno - Baytown TX, US
Nicolas M. De Ketelaere - Brabant Wallon, BE
International Classification:
H01B 3/44
C08F 210/02
C08J 5/18
B29C 48/00
B29C 48/06
B29C 48/08
Abstract:
A bimodal polyethylene is provided. The bimodal polyethylene may include a high molecular weight portion having a weight average molecular weight (M) of 100,000 g/mol to 1,000,000 g/mol and a low molecular weight portion having a Mof 10,000 g/mol to 80,000 g/mol. Polymer extrudates, such as cable-coatings and/or wire-coatings and films, including the bimodal polyethylene as well as methods of making the polymer extrudates are also provided.

US Patent:
20200071436, Mar 5, 2020
Filed:
Nov 29, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/204993
Inventors:
- Baytown TX, US
Matthew W. Holtcamp - Huffman TX, US
Ryan W. Impelman - Houston TX, US
Richard E. Pequeno - Baytown TX, US
Kevin A. Stevens - Houston TX, US
Charles J. Harlan - Houston TX, US
Xuan Ye - Houston TX, US
International Classification:
C08F 210/16
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides processes for polymerizing olefin(s). Methods can include contacting a first composition and a second composition in a line to form a third composition. The first composition can include a contact product of a first catalyst, a second catalyst, a support, a first activator, a mineral oil. The second composition can include a contact product of an activator, a diluent, and the first catalyst or the second catalyst. Methods can include introducing the third composition from the line into a gas-phase fluidized bed reactor, introducing a condensing agent to the line and/or the reactor, exposing the third composition to polymerization conditions, and/or obtaining a polyolefin. Polyethylene compositions including at least 65 wt % ethylene derived units, based upon the total weight of the polyethylene composition, are provided.

Pilot Plant Scale Semi-Condensing Operation

US Patent:
20190169335, Jun 6, 2019
Filed:
Mar 29, 2017
Appl. No.:
16/324803
Inventors:
- Baytown TX, US
Richard E. Pequeno - Baytown TX, US
Brandon C. Locklear - Tokyo, JP
International Classification:
C08F 210/16
B01J 8/18
Abstract:
A process for testing a commercial polyolefin condensed mode operation on a pilot plant scale is provided. A feed stream including one or more olefin monomers and one or more inert fluids can be introduced to a fluidized bed contained within a reactor housing having a length to diameter ratio of 1.0 to 20. The one or more olefin monomers can be contacted with one or catalysts within the fluidized bed at conditions sufficient to produce a polyolefin. A cycle gas stream can be withdrawn from the housing, the cycle gas stream having a gas velocity of 1.0 ft/sec to 3.0 ft/sec and including the unreacted monomers and the inert fluids. The cycle gas stream can be compressed to a pressure above the reaction pressure within the housing. The cycle gas stream can be cooled to a temperature that is above the dew point of the cycle gas, and a portion of the compressed cycle gas stream can be removed to create a side stream of the compressed cycle gas stream. The side stream can be cooled to a temperature that is below its dew point to create a gas-liquid mixture, and the cycle gas stream and the cooled side stream including the gas-liquid mixture can be returned to the reactor housing.
