About:
Having grown up in the Atlanta area (we've been here since I was 8), I have seen remarkable change. Six Flags was a dairy farm, I-20 was finished my senior year of high school, Lenox Mall was tiny, I-75 ended at Kennesaw, I-85 ended at Lenox and Greenbrier Mall was the first enclosed mall in Atlanta. The first time I remember seeing the Darlington Apartment sign (located across from Piedmont Hospital) it said "25,000 residents". Now it's probably 2 million! Going downtown was an all day affair. We would dress in our Sunday finest (gloves and all) and shop at Rich's (now Macy's) and have a sit down lunch. This happened twice a year: Christmas and Easter. It would take more than an hour to drive (there were only back roads then) and it was a major treat.
Atlanta is now an international city, thanks in large part to the Centennial Olympic Games held in 1996. That was THE best summer as far as weather goes. We were all concerned that it would be very hot and humid. It certainly was in '95. But during the Games it was ideal. I believe our guests found out just what Southern Hospitality is like. We showed the World how gracious and kind we are.
Getting into real estate was not something I planned. A friend called and asked me to join her company. I went to school and received my license in November of 1978. May daughter would start first grade the following year. Did I plan to stay in this field for the remainder of my working lifetime?? Probably not. But I can't think of a better field nor fit for me. I adore my clients, know my way around the Metro area and can show you from Acworth to Peachtree City in one day. Knowing your needs helps me find the best area for your lifestyle.
