An ash retainer and grill support for supporting a charcoal or similar grill and providing for the collection and storage of the ashes and other debris from the grill so as to aid clean up from the grill, provide increased safety by preventing easy access to hot coals, and to provide containment for the ashes so they can be easily removed from areas that restrict leaving fire remains, includes a bucket like retainer having an open top to receive and support a grill body therein. The normal grill air openings are within the opening so that any ashes or debris falling through such openings fall into and are collected by the retainer. The retainer includes a retainer vent to allow flow of air into the retainer and into the grill. The retainer has a double bottom wall and portion of side wall to insulate the outer wall from hot ashes and coals to reduce the chance of fire and a user being burned. The opening in the retainer is preferably smaller than the grill body so the grill extends from the retainer opening and can be leveled when the retainer is positioned on an unlevel surface.

A fin protector for a windsurfing board or similar item includes two sides secured together to form a pocket or receiving space for the tip of a fin to be protected into which the tip of the fin is inserted. The fin is forced into the pocket far enough to flex the sides apart enough so that the sides press against the fin and hold the protector on the fin. One side preferably extends beyond the fin receiving opening so as to guide the bottom of the fin into the opening when the protector is placed on the fin.

Anti-scratch standoffs or spacers extend from the sides into the fin receiving opening to space the sides from the fin as the tip of the fin is inserted. The fin is inserted into the pocket far enough to flex the sides apart enough so that the sides, through the spaces, press against the fin and hold the protector on the fin. The standoffs or spacers may take the form of hooks of hook and loop fastening material with pieces of the hook material secured to the sides of the fin receiving opening so the hooks extend into the opening, or may take the form of ridges extending from the sides of the fin receiving opening into the opening. The spacers provide a space between the sides of the fin receiving opening and the surface of the fin received therein where sand or other abrasive foreign material can rest to lessen the chances of such material scratching the fin surface.
