Trigger Sprayer Nozzle Providing Flow In Various Directions

View page
US Patent:
7007867, Mar 7, 2006
Filed:
Mar 31, 2005
Appl. No.:
10/907407
Inventors:
Raoul East Drapeau - Vienna VA, US
International Classification:
A62C 31/02
US Classification:
239394, 239333, 239392, 239601
Abstract:
A nozzle and cap structure is provided for a trigger-type pump sprayer allowing the user to conveniently reach top surfaces of objects above the user, as well as lower surfaces of objects below waist level, as well as any application for which the ability to direct the flow of liquid from such a sprayer in an upward or downward direction. A typical application is agricultural sprays such as insecticides, anti-fungal and anti-desiccants where both upper and lower surfaces of leaves should be coated. There also exists a vast array of applications for this device configuration where other hard-to-reach (or hard to treat) regions are involved, including both hand-held operations and remotely mechanized applications. The outlet or orifice of the nozzle cap is angularly configured relative to nozzle feed so that output is at an acute angle relative to the nozzle axis. A number of angular outlets may be provided in an adjustable cap.

Device For Copying Both Sides Of An Object In A Single Pass Using An Office Copier

View page
US Patent:
7050145, May 23, 2006
Filed:
Dec 9, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/275088
Inventors:
Raoul East Drapeau - Vienna VA, US
International Classification:
G03B 27/32
G03G 15/00
US Classification:
355 23, 355 24, 355 25, 399361, 399365, 399367, 399374
Abstract:
A device for use with a copier to make copies of both sides of a document or other objects in a single pass. The device is configured to rest on a copier platen without being attached to the platen and without deriving power from the copier. A document holder in the form of a pair of plates joined by a hinged connection is opened for insertion of a document to be copied. The holder is pivotally attached to a base member and spring-biased to rotate from a first to a second position above the copier platen. As a copier scanner moves beneath the holder temporarily latched in its first position, a first side of the document is scanned. A sensor then causes automatic release of the holder permitting it to swing to its second position for scanning its second side as the holder moves to its second position.

Fabric Hanger Method And System

View page
US Patent:
7086635, Aug 8, 2006
Filed:
Mar 11, 2005
Appl. No.:
10/906915
Inventors:
Raoul East Drapeau - Vienna VA, US
International Classification:
B42F 13/00
US Classification:
248339, 24341, 206480, 223 87
Abstract:
An improved hanger for storage and display of material such as fabric and the like. The hanger includes opposed panel sides interconnected at an upper spine portion. Fabric or other material is placed between the panels and is retained by a unique set of clips applied externally of the panel sides combined with and high-friction components including friction plates or clips with friction nibs positioned within the panels. A resilient spring clip is moved into a gripping position so as to impart pressure to the assemblage. Embodiments of the friction plates include a first U-shaped bracket element designed to be friction fitted along a side of one of the panels, while a second U-shaped bracket element is configured to be friction fitted along an opposing panel. The first bracket includes a detent arrangement for retaining the spring clip in a gripping position. The second bracket includes a spring clip retaining arrangement so as to prevent detachment of the spring clip when it is moved to its release position.

Insect Capture Device And System

View page
US Patent:
8567114, Oct 29, 2013
Filed:
Nov 3, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/668240
Inventors:
Raoul East Drapeau - Vienna VA, US
International Classification:
A01M 3/04
US Classification:
43136, 43134, 43137
Abstract:
A device and method for capturing insect pests that rest or crawl on a surface, while keeping one's fingers away from the capture site. The capture device is a rectangular sheet that is coated on one side with a high-tack adhesive, and on the other side with a release coating so that the sheets can be provided in a stack. Using a handling tab, the capture sheet is inserted into grooves in a holder which is mounted at one end of a handle. Disposal of the entrapped insect can be accomplished by removing the sheet by hand or by holding the handle so that the capture sheet is vertical and letting it drop away from the holder.

Anti-Slip Device Having Stiff Fibers

View page
US Patent:
20060110579, May 25, 2006
Filed:
Feb 4, 2005
Appl. No.:
10/906158
Inventors:
Raoul Drapeau - Vienna VA, US
International Classification:
B32B 3/00
US Classification:
428156000
Abstract:
A base material having a profusion of closely- and evenly-spaced, short, straight, thin and stiff fibers arising from its surface, where the fibers prevent the base material and another object to which it may be permanently attached, from slipping laterally relative to a second object, indentations on whose surface are engaged by the fibers on the material. Because the fibers are straight, they provide a robust anti-slip function parallel to the two surfaces, but are easy to remove in the direction perpendicular to the two surfaces.

Simulated-Kayak, Upper-Body Aerobic Exercise Machine

View page
US Patent:
63286777, Dec 11, 2001
Filed:
Apr 5, 2000
Appl. No.:
9/453904
Inventors:
Raoul East Drapeau - Vienna VA
International Classification:
A63B 6906
US Classification:
482 72
Abstract:
A small machine that can be removably mounted on a wall and may be used while sitting or standing to provide aerobic exercise without requiring the use of the legs. The machine simulates the action of a kayak by using an alternating power strokes from the arms, with an inertial component and adjustable retarding forces created by frictional and various speed-dependent mechanisms. A unidirectionally-rotating flywheel simulates the mass of the kayak plus operator, while friction pads, an eddy current generator and air vanes operating on the flywheel provide additional retarding forces. Various ways to grip the ends of the cord are provided, including individual hand grips and a single long shaft with or without paddles at either end.

Secure Conferencing System

US Patent:
51970988, Mar 23, 1993
Filed:
Apr 15, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/869416
Inventors:
Raoul E. Drapeau - Vienna VA
International Classification:
H04K 102
US Classification:
380 6
Abstract:
An audio system for conducting confidential multi-person conferences without the need for secure meeting facilities. Means for silently accepting spoken speech from a number of participants and making that speech available to all participants through headphones. Means for controlling the volume of the speech for each participant. Means for indicating which participant(s) are speaking. Means for masking any incidental speech escaping from masks. Means for alerting participants when speech is escaping from a mask. Means to allow modular expansion of the number of participants. Means for recording the meeting for later listening or transcription.

Video-Wall Viewing-Angle Enhancement System

View page
US Patent:
58284109, Oct 27, 1998
Filed:
Jul 19, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/504284
Inventors:
Raoul E. Drapeau - Vienna VA
International Classification:
H04N 566
H04N 912
US Classification:
348383
Abstract:
A system for increasing the useful viewing angle in an array of video display units, also called a video wall, comprising the duplication of an outer marginal strip of the displayed image on adjacent video display units, a cylindrical lens structure mounted over the frame of each video display units and outer strip, with a spatial compression of a portion of outer strip, or the duplication of the image in an outer marginal strip of the displayed image in adjacent video display units, and a spherical lens placed over the entire viewing surface and frame of each video display unit. With proper selection of lens parameters and aforementioned image modifications, the invention produces a magnified image that obscures the image of the frame between adjacent video display units and gives the effect of a single large display over an increased viewing angle.
