Capacitive Feedback Transducer And Closed Loop Instrument Meter Mechanism

View page
US Patent:
44343914, Feb 28, 1984
Filed:
Jan 15, 1982
Appl. No.:
6/339541
Inventors:
Harold L. Swartz - Glendale AZ
Randal A. Atkeisson - Phoenix AZ
Rodney A. Carter - Phoenix AZ
Russell C. Parker - Phoenix AZ
Assignee:
Sperry Corporation - New York NY
International Classification:
G05B 602
US Classification:
318662
Abstract:
A display pointer is driven back and forth along a predetermined path by a geared-down miniature d. c. servomotor in accordance with a command signal. The path is determined by an elongated printed circuit board base having closely adjacent, elongated, coextensive triangularly shaped plates thereon, constituting stationary capacitor plates of a pair of variable capacitors. The printed circuit board includes a dielectric material which also overlays the triangular plates. A relatively narrow, electrically conductive slider member extends laterally across the triangular plates and is supported by and rides on the printed circuit board and constitutes a common movable capacitor plate for the variable capacitors. The display pointer is attached to and positioned by the slider. The slider in turn is displaced along the printed circuit board by means of a cable and pulley mechanism coupled to the servomotor.

Fiber Optic Coupler Package With Strain Relief And Packaging Method

View page
US Patent:
58224823, Oct 13, 1998
Filed:
Apr 15, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/632745
Inventors:
Randal A. Atkeisson - Phoenix AZ
Karl A. Fetting - Glendale AZ
Assignee:
Honeywell Inc. - Minneapolis MN
International Classification:
G02B 638
US Classification:
385 51
Abstract:
A method of packaging a fiber optic coupler formed of a plurality of optical fibers having a coupled region at which electromagnetic waves are coupled therebetween and at least one lead portion extending from the coupled region. A protective body is provided having a receiving space therein. The coupled region and a portion of the at least one lead portion are positioned within the receiving space. A slack in the at least one lead portion is created by affixing two points of the portion of the at least one lead portion to said protective body. The slack is created between the two points.

Wrap Around Fiber Optic Component Package And Packaging Method

View page
US Patent:
55331610, Jul 2, 1996
Filed:
Nov 5, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/148041
Inventors:
Randal A. Atkeisson - Phoenix AZ
Karl A. Fetting - Glendale AZ
Assignee:
Honeywell Inc. - Minneapolis MN
International Classification:
G02B 6255
US Classification:
385 99
Abstract:
A method resulting in a package for a fiber optic component includes positioning the fiber optic component within a primary protective body. A flat wrappable secondary protective material having an adhesive on one side thereof is then wrapped around the primary protective body a plurality of times. The flat wrappable secondary protective material may be marked prior to wrapping the primary protective body. The adhesive on the flat wrappable secondary protective material may include a pressure sensitive adhesive allowing the primary protective body to be unwrapped.
