Lancet Needle Anchor Method

View page
US Patent:
6723111, Apr 20, 2004
Filed:
Apr 9, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/408285
Inventors:
Ramzi F. Abulhaj - Miramar FL
Erol Celikoglu - Aventura FL
Assignee:
Vital Care Group, Inc. - FL
International Classification:
A61B 1732
US Classification:
606181, 606182, 76119
Abstract:
A lancet body is molded around a needle or blade, in which the inner end of the needle body which is unsharpened has an L-shape bend at the unsharpened end. The bend, when embedded in the plastic which forms the body of the lancet, secures the needle against removal. The method involves the bending substantially perpendicularly of the unsharpened end of the lancet needle or blade to be substantially perpendicular with the elongate body of the blade. The needle or blade is placed within a jig interiorly of the plastic mold. The jig includes spaced opposed clamps and a single orienting support to the bent portion of the needle. The body of the lancet is relieved in many areas to reduce material cost and has a molded tab cover eliminating a loose part such as a separate cover.

Adjustable Disposable Lancet And Method

View page
US Patent:
6852119, Feb 8, 2005
Filed:
Sep 9, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/237370
Inventors:
Ramzi F. Abulhaj - Miramar FL, US
Erol Celikoglu - Aventura FL, US
Yinggan Shi - Zhangjing Town, Wuxi City, CHI Jiangsu 214194, CN
International Classification:
A61B017/32
US Classification:
606182, 606172
Abstract:
The invention of the present disposable adjustable lancet involves an assembly which has a body and a cap. A lancet holder fits in the body and has a base portion having a pair of upstanding retainer-disabling tines, one of the tines is longer than the other to block the reinsertion of the lancet. A selector tip assists in engaging a clicker position in the selector tip. The method involves selecting positions by means of a female and a male position clicker which provide an audible signal. The position of the lancet can be determined in three manners: visually observing the degree of rotation, audibly denoting the click, and physically rotating the member which, in turn, results in a reaction on the finger while the adjustment is being made.

Multiple Flow Rate Selection Valve

View page
US Patent:
7232420, Jun 19, 2007
Filed:
Dec 30, 2004
Appl. No.:
11/026199
Inventors:
Ramzi Abulhaj - Miami FL, US
International Classification:
A61M 39/00
A61M 39/22
US Classification:
604 32, 604246, 604247, 604248
Abstract:
A flow rate selection valve includes a gate cylinder having a gate cylinder rotational axis and having at least two flow rate determining passageways and passing laterally through the gate cylinder at orientations angularly displaced from each other and having cylinder rotation structure; and a valve housing containing a flow passageway and having a cylinder receiving bore intersecting the flow passageway into which the gate cylinder is rotatably and sealingly mounted, the gate cylinder dividing the flow passageway into a passageway inlet end and a passageway outlet end, the flow passageway containing a passageway registration barrier extending across the flow passageway and sealingly abutting the gate cylinder and having several flow ports with different minimum diameters, each flow port positioned to register with one of the flow rate determining passageway.

Bloodless Catheter And Needle Shielding Catheter Insertion Apparatus

View page
US Patent:
8303543, Nov 6, 2012
Filed:
Mar 7, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/073882
Inventors:
Ramzi Abulhaj - Miramar FL, US
International Classification:
A61M 5/178
US Classification:
60416401, 60416412, 60416703, 604264, 606167
Abstract:
An insertion apparatus, including an object for insertion into a patient; an insertion structure including an annular mounting structure having a mounting structure interior, the mounting structure containing a resilient membrane barrier extending across the mounting structure interior with a resiliently closing membrane opening for passing the object; so that the object can be inserted forwardly through the membrane opening and into a patient and subsequently withdrawn from the patient and rearwardly from the membrane opening, the membrane opening resiliently closes as the object exits the membrane opening and thereby preventing patient bodily fluid from flowing rearwardly out of the insertion structure.

Syringe Retractable Needle And Method

View page
US Patent:
20040116854, Jun 17, 2004
Filed:
Dec 12, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/317515
Inventors:
Ramzi Abulhaj - Miramar FL, US
Xian Li - Tai Zhou City, CN
Jack Dominik - Miami Lakes FL, US
International Classification:
A61M005/00
US Classification:
604/110000, 604/187000
Abstract:
A syringe carrying a needle with a barrel and hollow piston for dispersing an injectant through the end of the retractable needle. A resilient chuck seal is independently formed for positioning at the transition from the syringe barrel to the needle shank holding portion of the end of the barrel. The needle is propelled by the coaxial spring into the interior portion of the piston and totally retracted when the chuck seal is released. The method of the present invention relates to the use of a symmetrical chuck seal, annular in configuration, for not only gripping the head of the retractable needle, but simultaneously serving as the seal for the needle at the lower portion of the barrel so that the injectant escapes through the hollow syringe needle.
