Abstract:
A method and apparatus for providing wireless intelligent network services to mobile stations currently being served by a mobile switching center (S-MSC) that is not wireless intelligent network capable. The call is routed through a wireless intelligent network capable MSC (O-MSC). When the O-MSC receives the call, it requests instructions from a service control point (SCP) which provides a list of triggers for call states requiring further SCP instructions. Advantageously, this arrangement avoids the use of a double connection, using a loop-around trunk, in the O-MSC, as is required in the prior art.

Feedback To Calling Communication Device On Call Connected With Intelligent Network Signaling

View page
US Patent:
7340049, Mar 4, 2008
Filed:
Oct 10, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/683969
Inventors:
Ramachendra P. Batni - Phoenix AZ, US
Robert Brunetti - Munster IN, US
John B. Reid - Naperville IL, US
Laura Scruggs Reizner - Lisle IL, US
Michael Joseph Rudolph - Naperville IL, US
Assignee:
Lucent Technologies Inc. - Murray Hill NJ
International Classification:
H04M 7/00
H04M 3/42
US Classification:
37922108, 37920716
Abstract:
An apparatus in one example comprises one or more intelligent network platforms that serve to provide feedback to be played to a calling communication device during a call from the calling communication device for a called communication device. One or more of the one or more intelligent network platforms allow a user of the called communication device to preselect one or more portions of the feedback. One or more of the one or more intelligent network platforms employ signaling to connect the call from the calling communication device to an intelligent network platform of the one or more intelligent network platforms.

Call Triggering To One Or More Service Nodes Upon Receipt Of Initial Trigger Response

View page
US Patent:
7376419, May 20, 2008
Filed:
Jan 28, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/767101
Inventors:
Ramachendra P. Batni - Phoenix AZ, US
Michael Joseph Rudolph - Naperville IL, US
Yile E. Wang - Freehold NJ, US
Assignee:
Lucent Technologies Inc. - Murray Hill NJ
International Classification:
H04Q 7/20
H04M 3/42
H04M 11/00
H04M 15/00
US Classification:
455428, 4554141, 455406, 455408, 3791142
Abstract:
An originating mobile switching center of an apparatus in one example handles one or more calls. A serving mobile switching center for a communication device on a call of the one or more calls passes control of the call to the originating mobile switching center. The originating mobile switching center triggers the call to a service node. The service node sends an initial trigger response to the originating mobile switching center that instructs the originating mobile switching center to redirect the call. The initial trigger response arms one or more triggers that support one or more services for the communication device. The one or more triggers comprise one or more of one or more switch based triggers and one or more subscriber based triggers exclusive of Calling_Routing_Addresss_Available, OAnswer, and ODisconnect triggers. Upon receipt of the initial trigger response, the originating mobile switching center encounters one or more of the one or more triggers and triggers the call to one or more other service nodes.
