Coordinated Access Point Channelization For Transmission Opportunity Sharing

View page
US Patent:
20220394487, Dec 8, 2022
Filed:
Jun 2, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/336834
Inventors:
- San Jose CA, US
Pooya MONAJEMI - Irvine CA, US
Santosh Babaji KULKARNI - San Jose CA, US
Vishal Satyendra DESAI - San Jose CA, US
Assignee:
Cisco Technology, Inc. - San Jose CA
International Classification:
H04W 16/02
H04W 72/04
Abstract:
Coordinated Frequency Division Multiplexing (FDM) Transmission Opportunity (TXOP) sharing may be provided by determining that at least two Access Points (APs) of a wireless network support coordinated FDM TXOP sharing. In response to the determination that the at least two APs support coordinated FDM TXOP sharing, at least one of: a first bias is applied to a channel assignment algorithm to promote an assignment of overlapping channels of the at least two APs, and a second bias is applied to the channel assignment algorithm to promote an assignment of adjacent channels of the at least two APs. Next, channels are assigned to the at least two APs based on an output of the channel assignment algorithm.

Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request Transmissions In Multi-Link Devices

View page
US Patent:
20220394582, Dec 8, 2022
Filed:
Jun 4, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/339695
Inventors:
- San Jose CA, US
Gautam D. BHANAGE - Milpitas CA, US
Pooya MONAJEMI - San Jose CA, US
Sivadeep R. KALAVAKURU - Akron OH, US
Matthew A. SILVERMAN - Shaker Heights OH, US
International Classification:
H04W 36/30
H04W 48/20
H04L 1/18
Abstract:
A method includes transmitting a message over a first link using a first radio of a plurality of radios of a multi-link device and in response to determining that the message was not properly received, selecting a second radio of the plurality of radios of the multi-link device. A second link of the second radio provides a higher probability than the first link that the message will be properly received. The method also includes retransmitting the message over the second link using the second radio.

Reducing Spurious Beamforming In High Density Environments

View page
US Patent:
20220385346, Dec 1, 2022
Filed:
May 27, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/332670
Inventors:
- San Jose CA, US
Robert E. BARTON - Richmond, CA
Matthew A. SILVERMAN - Shaker Heights OH, US
Pooya MONAJEMI - San Jose CA, US
International Classification:
H04B 7/06
H04W 36/08
H04W 52/30
Abstract:
Spurious beamforming in high density environments can be reduced via transmitting a first signal from a first Access Point (AP) to a first endpoint associated with the first AP via a first beamforming arrangement; in response to identifying that the first beamforming arrangement is pollutive to a second endpoint associated with a second AP: deprecating the first beamforming arrangement; and transmitting a second signal from the first AP to the first endpoint via a second beamforming arrangement, different from the first beamforming arrangement.

Channel Selection For Dynamic-Frequency-Selection Channels Using Puncturing

View page
US Patent:
20220311537, Sep 29, 2022
Filed:
Mar 11, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/654534
Inventors:
- San Jose CA, US
Brian Donald HART - Sunnyvale CA, US
Pooya MONAJEMI - San Jose CA, US
Vishal Satyendra DESAI - San Jose CA, US
International Classification:
H04L 1/00
H04L 47/125
H04W 16/14
H04L 47/2441
Abstract:
An access point in a wireless network communicates wirelessly with one or more client devices over a channel that includes a plurality of subchannels. Radar is detected on a first subchannel of the plurality of subchannels. It is determined to puncture the first subchannel, based on the detecting the radar on the first subchannel and based on one or more puncturing factors. The first subchannel is punctured, the puncturing comprising muting one or more subcarriers on the first subchannel.

Network Compliance And Admission Control

View page
US Patent:
20220311803, Sep 29, 2022
Filed:
Mar 26, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/301150
Inventors:
- San Jose CA, US
Jerome HENRY - Pittsboro NC, US
Pooya MONAJEMI - Irvine CA, US
Brian D. HART - Sunnyvale CA, US
David S. KLOPER - Rohnert Park CA, US
International Classification:
H04L 29/06
H04W 12/08
Abstract:
A device includes a memory and a hardware processor communicatively coupled to the memory. The hardware processor determines that a computing device communicatively coupled to an access point performed an action with respect to the access point and in response to determining that the action causes a deviation from a multi-user uplink policy of the access point, transmits a disciplinary message to the computing device.

Hybrid Ranging

View page
US Patent:
20220283258, Sep 8, 2022
Filed:
Mar 4, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/192434
Inventors:
- San Jose CA, US
Robert E. BARTON - Richmond, CA
Matthew Aaron SILVERMAN - Shaker Heights OH, US
Vishal Satyendra DESAI - Milpitas CA, US
Pooya MONAJEMI - Irvine CA, US
Assignee:
Cisco Technology, Inc. - San Jose CA
International Classification:
G01S 3/74
H04W 64/00
G01S 13/87
Abstract:
Hybrid ranging may be provided. A coverage environment may be divided into a plurality of areas and a corresponding plurality accuracy gradients for each of the plurality of areas may be determined. Passive ranging may be implemented for ones of the plurality of areas that have a high accuracy gradient and one of a high client device density and low client device movement. Active ranging may be implemented for ones of the plurality of areas that have a low client device density. Based on at least one of a level of client device density and movement speed of client devices, switching may be performed between passive ranging and active ranging for ones of the plurality of areas that have at least one of high client device density and high client device movement.

Flexible Radio Assignment For Multi-Link Capable Access Points

View page
US Patent:
20220256527, Aug 11, 2022
Filed:
Feb 9, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/171741
Inventors:
- San Jose CA, US
Vishal Satyendra DESAI - San Jose CA, US
Pooya MONAJEMI - Irvine CA, US

Management of radio resources of a wireless network according to a Flexible Radio Assignment (FRA) mode may be provided. For each Access Point (AP) of the wireless network: a type of AP may be identified including determining whether each AP has Multi-Link (ML) capability, and when the FRA mode is for performance, a bias may be applied to each ML capable AP to reduce a likelihood of a radio of each ML capable AP being identified as a redundant radio. For each Client Device (CD) of the wireless network, an identification of whether each CD has ML capability may be made, and a radio configuration of at least one ML capable AP may be tailored to support one or more ML capable CDs.
