Method For Developing Embedded Code For System Simulations And For Use In A Hmi

View page
US Patent:
7286975, Oct 23, 2007
Filed:
Oct 24, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/279547
Inventors:
Peter S. Abowd - Birmingham MI, US
Dimitri Khijniak - Ypsilanti MI, US
Assignee:
Visteon Global Technologies, Inc. - Van Buren Township MI
International Classification:
G06F 9/45
US Classification:
703 22, 703 1, 703 2, 703 13, 716 1, 716 2
Abstract:
The present invention concerns a method and apparatus for integrating a CAD model of a product and an HMI simulation model of a product into a format suitable to be run in a virtual reality program. The method and apparatus according to the present invention includes the steps of providing a CAD model and a simulation model of the product. The simulation model includes an HMI simulation portion and an electronics/mechanical simulation portion. The CAD model and the HMI simulation portion of the simulation model are then integrated into a virtual reality representation of the product and modeled in the virtual reality program.

Digitally Controlled Audio Amplifier With Voltage Limiting

View page
US Patent:
52553248, Oct 19, 1993
Filed:
Dec 26, 1990
Appl. No.:
7/633919
Inventors:
James E. Brewer - Canton MI
Peter S. Abowd - Farmington Hills MI
Frank W. Raffaeli - Parma OH
Assignee:
Ford Motor Company - Dearborn MI
International Classification:
H03G 300
H03G 1100
H03G 900
US Classification:
381107
Abstract:
An audio system employs a microcontroller to supervise the operation of an audio system including a digitally controlled audio processor which controls at least a wideband and a narrowband gain for the audio signal. The narrowband gain may preferably comprise a bass boost to the audio signal. Clipping distortion of the audio signal is avoided by sensing clipping in a power amplifier and reducing the digital commands for the wideband gain and the narrowband gain according to a method which reduces narrowband gain in preference to the wideband gain. After the narrowband gain is reduced to a predetermined gain, the wideband gain may be reduced if clipping persists. When clipping ceases, the narrowband gain is likewise restored to its original gain in preference to restoring of the wideband gain.

Systems And Methods For Utilizing Micro-Interaction Events On Computing Devices To Administer Questions

View page
US Patent:
20140298260, Oct 2, 2014
Filed:
Mar 27, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/227094
Inventors:
- Birmingham MI, US
Yi Han - Atlanta GA, US
Peter Abowd - Birmingham MI, US
Wesley Horner - Pittsburgh PA, US
Steven Tengler - Grosse Pointe Park MI, US
Junyu Chen - Pittsburgh PA, US
Assignee:
L.S.Q. LLC - Birmingham MI
International Classification:
G06F 3/0484
US Classification:
715810
Abstract:
Disclosed are systems and methods for facilitating the administration of questions to one or more intended responders. A grouping of questions is obtained. At least one graphical element is assigned to each of the questions within the grouping and a grouping of graphical elements is generated. Each of the graphical elements within the grouping of graphical elements is prioritized. In response to detection of a micro-interaction event the following steps are performed: a graphical element among the grouping of graphical elements having a highest priority is selected; the selected graphical element is presented on a display of the mobile computing device; a response is obtained based on manipulation of the displayed graphical element; metadata is generated according to the response; and the response and metadata are stored in a storage device within the mobile computing device.
