Gluer Lockdown

View page
US Patent:
42626269, Apr 21, 1981
Filed:
Jan 14, 1980
Appl. No.:
6/111530
Inventors:
Paul Wahnschaff - Atlanta GA
International Classification:
B05C 102
US Classification:
118247
Abstract:
The shaft of a lockdown assembly is supported at its ends in the side sections of the stationary frame of a glue applicator. Lockdown legs are mounted to the shaft at each end of the shaft and extend parallel to each other from the shaft toward engagement with the side sections of the movable frame of the glue applicator. A spring biases the lockdown legs toward their locked positions. The shaft can be pivoted to raise the lockdown legs away from the movable frame, the movable frame tilted so as to lift its rolls away from their operating positions with respect to the rolls of the stationary frame, and a hook of one of the lockdown legs engages a catch on one of the side sections of the movable frame to hold the movable frame in its open position.

Glue Applicator

View page
US Patent:
42638690, Apr 28, 1981
Filed:
Jan 14, 1980
Appl. No.:
6/111528
Inventors:
Paul Wahnschaff - Atlanta GA
International Classification:
B05C 102
US Classification:
118249
Abstract:
Wipers are mounted on the opposite ends of a cylindrical glue wetting roll which direct the glue adhering to and moving upwardly with the flat end surfaces of the glue wetting roll first inwardly toward the axis of rotation of the glue wetting roll and then back to the glue pan. The glue applicator roll which picks up the glue from the glue wetting roll includes a ceramic coating about its annular surface which is contacted by the sheet material to which the glue is applied and by the picker fingers which pick the sheets from the roll.

Continuous Flow Glue Pot For Glue Applicator

View page
US Patent:
43959687, Aug 2, 1983
Filed:
Mar 12, 1982
Appl. No.:
6/357406
Inventors:
Paul Wahnschaff - Atlanta GA
Steven Wahnschaff - Roswell GA
Michael J. Wahnschaff - Atlanta GA
International Classification:
B05C 1100
US Classification:
118602
Abstract:
The glue pot is attached to a glue applicator to supply a continuous flow of hot liquid glue to the applicator rolls of the glue applicator. The glue pot comprises an upright cylindrical glue container with an opening formed in the central portion of its bottom wall, and a water stack extending from said bottom wall opening upwardly through the glue container to form an annular glue reservoir. A water tank is positioned below the bottom wall of the glue container in open communication with the water stack, and water is supplied to the water tank and water stack. Heating means heats the water in the water tank and in the water stack, so that the glue in the glue reservoir is heated from inside out and from bottom up. A pump has its inlet in communication with the lower portion of the glue reservoir and it delivers liquid glue to the glue applicator rolls of the glue applicator, and directs a continuous flow of glue into the upper portion of the annular glue reservoir to continuously stir the glue in the reservoir. A water supply conduit extends through the heated water tank so as to supply hot water for cleaning the pump and glue conduits and for cleaning the glue applicator.

Pivotable Ball Skate

View page
US Patent:
42944562, Oct 13, 1981
Filed:
Nov 13, 1979
Appl. No.:
6/093746
Inventors:
James L. Tuell - Atlanta GA
Paul Wahnschaff - Atlanta GA
Assignee:
Tuell Industries, Inc. - Atlanta GA
International Classification:
A63C 1702
A63C 1724
US Classification:
280 1128
Abstract:
A foot-mounted roller skate includes front and rear roller assemblies pivotable about upright axes. The rollers are hemispherical in shape and resilient pads are positioned on opposite sides of the roller support brackets to restrain the pivoting of the rollers out of alignment with the foot support platform.

Glue Applicator Roll Assembly

View page
US Patent:
41190572, Oct 10, 1978
Filed:
Sep 12, 1977
Appl. No.:
5/832657
Inventors:
Paul Wahnschaff - Atlanta GA
International Classification:
B05C 102
B05C 1300
US Classification:
118203
Abstract:
Wiper blades are mounted on the end bearing blocks and are located at each end of a rotatable cylindrical glue applicator roll and are arranged to wipe the glue from the flat ends of the applicator roll and from the end portions of the annular surface of the applicator roll. The wiper blades include a horizontal leg having a concave roll contact surface normally in engagement with the end curved portion of the cylindrical roll and a flat surface in contact with the flat end of the roll. A portion of the wiper blade adjacent the flat end of the roll is angled between a tangent and a radius from the axis of rotation of the roll on the downward moving side of the roll and includes a groove for deflecting and guiding the glue in a downward direction off the flat end of the roll. A pick finger support bar extends above and parallel to the cylindrical roll, a plurality of pick fingers are mounted on the pick bar, and the pick bar is adjustably supported at its ends substantially without any bending forces being applied to the pick bar so as to permit the pick bar to remain rectilinear and to properly position the pick fingers against the cylindrical glue applicator roll.
