Filed:
May 16, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/440499
Inventors:
Paul David Seff - Lincoln IL
Assignee:
Eaton Corporation - Cleveland OH
International Classification:
H01H 902
US Classification:
174 58, 174 53, 174135, 439131
Abstract:
The present invention provides a bracket structured to support a ground fault circuit receptacle assembly and to be rotatably attached to an electrical receptacle enclosure assembly housing assembly. The rotatable bracket includes an opening sized to allow the face plate of the ground fault circuit receptacle assembly to be exposed. The bracket further rotates between a first position, wherein the ground fault circuit receptacle assembly electrical couplings are exposed, to a second, operational position. In the first position, conductors may be easily attached to a ground fault circuit receptacle assembly electrical coupling.

Locking Member For Electrical Load Center Interiors With Different Current Rating And Interior Incorporating Same

View page
US Patent:
6813142, Nov 2, 2004
Filed:
Jul 31, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/631546
Inventors:
Paul D. Seff - Lincoln IL
Assignee:
Eaton Corporation - Cleveland OH
International Classification:
H02B 12018
US Classification:
361637, 361639, 361648, 439574
Abstract:
A single locking member secures bus bars of different current ratings in the elongated support of a load center interior. The locking member has a lip on an outer end forming an inwardly facing locking surface that engages an outer edge of either size bus bar. A first outwardly facing locking surface formed by a first transverse groove in the locking member engages an inwardly facing abutment surface on a flange on the elongated support to secure the narrower bus bar in a lateral slot in the elongated support. The flange on the elongated support seats in a second groove in the locking member, spaced farther from the lip to secure a wider bus bar in the slot in the elongated support. The invention also embraces a load center interior incorporating the locking member.

Clamp-Jaw Contact Assembly With Integral Jaw Spring And Meter Socket Employing The Same

View page
US Patent:
7018247, Mar 28, 2006
Filed:
Mar 22, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/086947
Inventors:
Michael J. Ranta - Bloomington IL, US
Paul D. Seff - Lincoln IL, US
Assignee:
Eaton Corporation - Cleveland OH
International Classification:
H01R 13/11
US Classification:
439858, 439822
Abstract:
A clamp-jaw contact assembly is for a meter socket including a socket block having plurality of meter socket receptacles. The clamp-jaw contact assembly includes a stationary contact structured to engage a corresponding one of the meter socket receptacles, a moveable contact pivotally coupled to the stationary contact by a pivot member, such as a rivet, and a clamping element which is coupled to the stationary contact and includes an integral jaw spring. The integral jaw spring biases the moveable contact toward the stationary contact in order to secure a meter bayonet therebetween. The moveable contact also has a closed position in which it resists insertion of the meter bayonet between the moveable contact and the stationary contact.

Electrical Enclosure Assembly And Moisture-Resistant Mount Therefor

View page
US Patent:
7132601, Nov 7, 2006
Filed:
Feb 14, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/353926
Inventors:
Paul D. Seff - Lincoln IL, US
Assignee:
Eaton Corporation - Cleveland OH
International Classification:
H02G 3/08
US Classification:
174 50, 174 53, 174 58, 174481, 220 32, 248906
Abstract:
A moisture-resistant mount is provided for mounting enclosures, such as air conditioner disconnect enclosures, to a support structure, such as a building wall or other structure. The enclosure includes a back panel having a plurality of holes. The mount, which preferably includes a single molded piece, includes a mounting portion receiving the back panel of the enclosure and forming an interface therebetween, a plurality of weatherproofing mechanisms including a shield, a flange, receptacles and protrusions to resist moisture from entering the enclosure, and an engagement portion coupling the mount to the support structure. The shield extends from the mounting portion to shield the interface, and the receptacles and protrusions engage the holes in the back panel. The support structure includes a number of layers. An integral flange on the mount engages one of the layers, and a second, finishing layer overlies the integral flange of the mount, but not the enclosure.
