View page
US Patent:
45220050, Jun 11, 1985
Filed:
Oct 25, 1983
Appl. No.:
6/545358
Inventors:

Warren E. Mueller - Middletown OH
Assignee:
Armco Inc. - Middletown OH
International Classification:
E04D 134
US Classification:
52544
Abstract:
A clip connector for anchoring rigid interlocked panels to spaced supporting members. The clip includes a washer member slidingly engaged on a base formed from the bottom of the upstanding clip web. The washer member is provided with an aperture extending therethrough exteriorly of the base. A fastener extends through the aperture and secures the washer member, in restrained but slidable engagement with the base, to a supporting member. Centering means may be provided on the clip web to position the washer member with respect to the base. US Patent:
43499961, Sep 21, 1982
Filed:
Apr 24, 1980
Appl. No.:
6/143261
Inventors:
Richard W. Lautensleger - Middletown OH
Richard D. Shepard - Monroe OH
Paul A. Seaburg - Middletown OH
Assignee:
Armco Inc. - Middletown OH
International Classification:
E04B 700
E04C 304
US Classification:
52655
Abstract:
An integrated roof system for buildings of the type wherein the roof structure is supported on spaced apart rafters, the system comprising a series of V-trusses extending between the rafters at spaced apart intervals, the V-trusses comprising independent load supporting units which are self-bracing and do not require interconnecting bracing members. The V-trusses are formed from half-truss sections having top and bottom chords interconnected by webbing, the half-truss sections being diagonally disposed with respect to each other with their bottom chords juxtaposed and their top chords interconnected by tie members. The system includes seat members at the ends of the top chords by means of which the V-trusses are secured to the rafters, and a roof structure adapted to be secured to the top chords of the V-trusses.

US Patent:
44359322, Mar 13, 1984
Filed:
Oct 19, 1981
Appl. No.:
6/312711
Inventors:
Paul A. Seaburg - Middletown OH
Richard W. Lautensleger - Middletown OH
Assignee:
Armco Inc. - Middletown OH
International Classification:
E04B 700
US Classification:
52263
Abstract:
A roof supporting structure and method of erecting such structure, the structure comprising a series of spaced apart rafters lying in parallel relation with a series of V-truss units extending between the rafters in parallel relation at spaced apart intervals to define rows of V-truss units supported at their opposite ends on the rafters, the V-truss units in a given row lying in alternating relation with respect to the V-truss units in the next adjacent row, the ends of the V-truss units in one row being interconnected with the adjoining ends of the V-truss units in the next adjacent row so that horizontal forces will be transmitted jointly by the V-truss units in adjacent rows. Modified V-truss units may be provided at the ends of alternate rows to further enhance the horizontal load supporting capability of the structure, the modified V-truss units additionally serving to mount the wall panels of a building utilizing the roof supporting structure. Girt members may be provided at the ends of the rows between the rows containing the modified V-truss units to provide continuity of support for the wall panels.
