Methods For Pre-Conditioning Fischer-Tropsch Light Products Preceding Upgrading

View page
US Patent:
6709569, Mar 23, 2004
Filed:
Dec 21, 2001
Appl. No.:
10/023876
Inventors:
Paul D. Cambern - Martinez CA
Assignee:
Chevron U.S.A. Inc. - San Ramon CA
International Classification:
C10G 4700
US Classification:
208 58, 208 15, 208 18, 208 64, 208107, 208210, 585 14
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention are directed to methods for hydroprocessing Fischer-Tropsch products. The embodiments in particular are related to integrated methods for producing liquid fuels from a hydrocarbon stream provided by a Fischer-Tropsch synthesis process. The methods involves separating the Fischer-Tropsch products into a light fraction and a heavy fraction. The light fraction is pre-conditioned to remove contaminants such as CO prior to being subjected to hydroprocessing, either separately, or after having been being recombined with the heavy fraction. Any of the hydroprocessing steps may be accomplished in a single reactor.

US Patent:
20030047486, Mar 13, 2003
Filed:
Sep 10, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/954328
Inventors:
Dennis Cash - Novato CA, US
Paul Cambern - Martinez CA, US
International Classification:
C10G049/22
C10G011/00
C10G015/00
US Classification:
208/089000, 208/100000
Abstract:
An integrated distillate hydrocracking process produces one or more fuel products and one or more lube products from a first reaction stage. Heavy fractions from the first stage, which are not recovered as lube products, are cracked to fuels in a second reaction stage. This invention is intended to provide a full range of lube streams, over a wide viscosity range and a wide viscosity index range, from a fuels hydrocracker, in addition to high yields of high quality fuels.
