Classification For Media Stream Packets In A Media Gateway

View page
US Patent:
7688820, Mar 30, 2010
Filed:
Oct 2, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/537990
Inventors:
Paolo Forte - Boston MA, US
Snehal Karia - Fremont CA, US
Josh Marder - Bellingham MA, US
Assignee:
DiVitas Networks, Inc. - Mountain View CA
International Classification:
H04L 12/56
US Classification:
370389, 370230, 370428, 370351, 370401, 710104, 710105, 710106, 710107
Abstract:
A method in Field Programmable Gate Array for processing packets received at a media gateway is provided. The method includes ascertaining whether a received packet is a UDP (User Datagram Protocol) packet. The method also includes comparing first portion of UDP destination port number from UDP packet header with first portion with UDP port base that has been set up in media gateway. If a match exist, employing second portion of UDP destination port number as a key to UDP port table to ascertain whether packets associated with media stream ID are to be discarded, and discarding received packet if packet associated with media stream ID is to be discarded. If not, obtaining media processing CPU ID associated with media stream ID, formulating destination MAC address, and updating packet with destination MAC address, thereby enabling packet to be switched to media processing CPU associated with media processing CPU ID.

Methods And Apparatus For Upgrading Programmable Control Logic Without Disturbing Network Traffic Flowing Through Functional Elements Controlled By The Control Logic

View page
US Patent:
6557101, Apr 29, 2003
Filed:
Dec 22, 1999
Appl. No.:
09/470487
Inventors:
Eric MacDonald - Epping NH
Thomas Kong - Brookline MA
Paolo Forte - Belmont MA
Assignee:
Sycamore Networks, Inc. - Chelmsford MA
International Classification:
G06F 900
US Classification:
713100, 710302
Abstract:
A network device includes latches disposed between control outputs of control logic such as a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) and control inputs of functional elements through which network traffic flows. The control logic generates a latch enable signal that controls the operation of the latches. The latch enable signal is in a latching state to maintain the latches open during normal operation. During an upgrade, the control outputs may take on incorrect or indeterminate values, due to entering a high-impedance state. Therefore, during the upgrade the latches are closed, maintaining the pre-upgrade values on the inputs of the functional elements and preventing the control logic outputs from affecting operation of the device. After re-programming is complete and the control outputs are in a determinate state, the latches are re-opened. A pullup/pulldown circuit is used to maintain the latch enable signal in a latching state during the upgrade.

User Interface For Pumps For Swimming Pools And Spas

US Patent:
20220269353, Aug 25, 2022
Filed:
Feb 24, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/679478
Inventors:
- Carlsbad CA, US
Matt Golman - San Marcos CA, US
Merinda Nugent - Vista CA, US
Steve Jones - San Marcos CA, US
Alec Momont - San Francisco CA, US
Jeff Servaites - Oakland CA, US
Ryan Starling - San Rafael CA, US
Kenneth Hsieh - Seattle WA, US
Paolo Forte - Boston MA, US
Assignee:
ZODIAC POOL SYSTEMS LLC - Carlsbad CA
International Classification:
G06F 3/02
E04H 4/12
Abstract:
A user interface may be communicatively coupled with a fluid-moving pump and may include at least two interactive regions for receiving user input to control the fluid-moving pump. The user interface may be attached to the fluid-moving pump using a mounting cover and an attachment bracket that can allow attachment or positioning of the user interface relative to the fluid-moving pump via a turn motion or other suitable methods. In other examples, the user interface can be mounted on a wall or other surface.
