View page
US Patent:
8297005, Oct 30, 2012
Filed:
Dec 29, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/980601
Inventors:
Curtis Bramble - Kansas City MO, US
Otto W. Fleck - Kansas City MO, US
Lowell Hickman - Riverside MO, US
Assignee:
Dry Basement, Inc. - Kansas City MO
International Classification:
E02D 19/00
US Classification:
521695, 523023
Abstract:
A water diverting system for diverting water from a building's foundation, where the foundation comprises a basement footing having an interior face oriented towards an interior of the foundation, a basement wall having an interior face oriented towards the interior of the foundation, and a basement floor slab. The system comprises a channel for collecting water and configured to be installed adjacent the basement footing. The channel is overlaid with a corrugated track for directing water to the channel. A vertical water guide extends perpendicularly from the track and is positioned adjacent the interior face of the basement wall. The guide includes a plurality of spaced projections for directing water trickling down along the wall to the channel.

Method Of Reinforcing Concrete Block Foundation Walls

View page
US Patent:
45638527, Jan 14, 1986
Filed:
Dec 21, 1984
Appl. No.:
6/684944
Inventors:
Irving Achtenberg - Kansas City MO
Otto W. Fleck - Liberty MO
International Classification:
E04G 2302
E04D 3700
US Classification:
52743
Abstract:
A method by which a concrete block foundation wall is strengthened and reinforced. Upper and lower access openings are chiseled in the wall to provide access to a vertical passage formed by aligned cavities in the blocks. A lower anchor bolt is inserted through the lower opening and anchored to the foundation wall footing at the bottom of the passage. An upper bolt is inserted through the upper opening and extended through the wood plate which rests on top of the wall. A nut is threaded onto the upper bolt. A flexible steel cable is inserted into the passage through the upper opening and fastened to the upper bolt at one end and to the lower bolt at the other end. The nut is then tightened on the upper bolt to place the cable in a taut condition. A spacer is inserted through an intermediate opening in the wall and used to deflect the cable to a bowed shape. The passage is then filled with cement to form a vertical column of cement reinforced by the steel cable.

US Patent:
20170081863, Mar 23, 2017
Filed:
Sep 21, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/859553
Inventors:
- Kansas City MO, US
Otto W. Fleck - Kansas City MO, US
Lowell Hickman - Riverside MO, US
International Classification:
E04F 17/06
F21S 11/00
E06B 9/24
E06B 7/28
E06B 7/14
Abstract:
A window well assembly for providing natural light to an interior of a dwelling comprising a light-refracting block, a flange, an outer gasket, an internal gasket, a reinforcing band, and a fastener. The window well assembly is installed into a wall in the dwelling where the light-refracting block externally protrudes from the wall for natural light refraction into the interior of the dwelling. The light-refracting block comprises a block body that presents an external receiving side, an external transmitting side, an upper wall-interfacing side, a lower wall-interfacing side, and an internal emergent side. Natural light enters the external receiving side or external transmitting side and refracts through the block body until emitted through the internal emergent side.
