H04L 12/56
US Classification:
718 1, 370401
Abstract:
Embodiments provide a network address translation (NAT) service for network devices. A network connection from at least one private network device to the NAT service is received and a network connection from at least one remote device to the NAT service is received. The private network device is positioned within a private network and the remote device is positioned within a public network. A network availability of the remote device is determined. If the remote device is unavailable or a network configuration setting associated with the remote device changes, the private network device is notified and a connection reset message is transmitted to the private network device.

Abstract:
Route exchange in a plurality of network controller appliances on a per-tenant basis is disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes receiving, from a network management system and at a first network controller appliance, a designation of at least two tenants to be hosted on the first network controller appliance, the first network controller appliance being one of a plurality of network controller appliances in a SD-WAN; sending, from the first network controller appliance to other network controller appliances of the plurality of network controller appliances, a tenant list query message to obtain a corresponding tenant list of each of the other network controller appliances; and receiving a corresponding response from each of the other network controller appliances indicating the corresponding tenant list of each of the other network controller appliances, the corresponding response being used to update the tenant list on the first network controller appliance.

Policy-Based Proximity Routing

US Patent:
20210314265, Oct 7, 2021
Filed:
May 28, 2020
Appl. No.:
16/886540
Inventors:
- Palo Alto CA, US
Dileep Devireddy - San Jose CA, US
Ganesan Chandrashekhar - Campbell CA, US
Feng Gu - Mountain View CA, US
Sreenivas Duvvuri - San Ramon CA, US
Nithin Bangalore RAJU - Santa Clara CA, US
International Classification:
H04L 12/813
H04L 29/06
H04L 12/741
H04L 29/12
Abstract:
In some embodiments, a first network device in a first site sets a first IP address for an interface of the first network device to a value of a second IP address of a second network device in a second site. Policies are added in a policy table to cover IP addresses used in the second site and a specific route for a third IP address associated with a first workload migrated from the second site to the first site is added into a routing table. The first workload is on a stretched network that is coupled via a layer 2 channel. The policy table configures the first network device to send a second packet from the first workload to a third workload in the second site via the layer 2 channel when an IP address for the third workload does not match an eligible route in the routing table.

H04L 29/08
H04L 12/931
H04W 12/00
H04L 29/06
H04L 12/24
Abstract:
A physical host machine of a public cloud system includes a set of processing units for executing instructions stored in non-transitory machine readable media. The physical host machine also includes a physical network interface cars (PNIC) and a non-transitory machine readable medium that stores a data compute node (DCN). The DCN includes first and second applications, first and second logical interfaces, a network stack, and a managed forwarding element (MFE). The first application is connected to the pNIC through the network stack, the first logical interface, and the MFE. The second application is connected to the PNIC through the network stack, the second logical interface, and the MFE.

Vivek Agarwal - Campbell CA, US
Nithin B. Raju - Sunnyvale CA, US
International Classification:
H04L 12/46
H04L 12/24
Abstract:
Some embodiments provide a method for a set of central controllers that manages forwarding elements operating in a plurality of datacenters. The method receives a configuration for a bridge between (i) a logical L2 network that spans at least two datacenters and (ii) a physical L2 network. The configuration specifies a particular one of the datacenters for implementation of the bridge. The method identifies multiple managed forwarding elements that implement the logical L2 network and are operating in the particular datacenter. The method selects one of the identified managed forwarding elements to implement the bridge. The method distributes bridge configuration data to the selected managed forwarding element.

A packet that is received from a network manager application and addressed to an underlay network destination is sent to the underlay network destination address through a physical NIC of the host without network address translation or encapsulation. A packet that is received from a tenant application and addressed to an underlay network destination is subject to SNAT and is sent to the underlay network destination address. A packet that is received from a tenant application and is addressed an overlay destination address is encapsulated with the header of the overlay network and is sent to the overlay network destination address through the underlay virtual adapter.
