Abstract:
Some embodiments disclosed herein provide a cord and retainer system including a cord retainer that retains a cord within a desired configuration. The cord retainer may be a paper element extending around a coiled cord. The cord retainer may promote the structural integrity of the coiled arrangement of the cord, and may have an aesthetically pleasing appearance (e.g., due to having edges that do not expose the internal structure of the material forming the cord retainer. In some embodiments, a second cord (optionally having its own cord retainer) is disposed within coils of the first coiled cord. In some embodiments, one or both of the first and second cord are disposed within one or more cavities of a packaging substrate, to fix their positions in a manner easily understood by a user, to enhance the user's experience upon unpacking the cords.

Abstract:
Packaging used to hold and ship consumer products may include a packaging insert having an exterior profile that substantially matches an interior profile of the box it is placed in during assembly. In some embodiments, the packaging insert may be formed using a thermo-forming process that inhibits the formation of defects, such as stress marks, located near or on the corners of the packaging insert. The packaging insert may include a side wall having a plurality of extended portions and a plurality of abbreviated portions. In some embodiments, the packaging insert may include a plurality of flaps rotatably connected to a body of the packaging insert.

Abstract:
Shrink wrap films that are customized to have a shape matching a shape of a particular part or parts are disclosed. The shrink wrap films can be formed using unique manufacturing techniques that involve heating the part or parts prior to applying the shrink wrap film. The resultant part or parts will have substantially wrinkle-free and defect-free shrink wrap film applied thereon. In some embodiments, additional functional and cosmetic features are formed in the shrink wrap film. In some embodiments, a laser cutting procedure is used to form the features in the shrink wrap film. Methods can be used to provide visually and tactilely smooth and aesthetically appealing shrink wrapped consumer products.

Abstract:
In some of the embodiments described, a display apparatus can be applied to a package to facilitate hanging of the package. The display apparatus may also seal the package. In some embodiments, the display apparatus has three flat panel-like branches, where an upper branch protrudes upwards and has a hole from which the display apparatus can be hung, a lower branch protrudes downwards and can be affixed to a tuck flap of a package top, and a closure branch can be rotated downwards to be affixed to an exterior face of the side of the package, thereby sealing it. When the upper branch is hung from a support, the lower branch and closure branch support the package by their affixation thereto, thereby facilitating its display.
