Analytical Chemistry - Lecture and lab covered how to approach real life situations and applicable techniques for various sample types. 60 Lab hours. Environmental Chemistry - Covered most elemental cycles such as ozone, nitrogen, carbon, etc. Practiced methods for measuring mass transfer and other changes. Geological Topics - University studies provided an understanding of geological topics including the following: Soil types/classifications Land formations Groundwater Hydrology Tracer Contaminant and Aqueous Transport Hydrology Chemistry Lab Techniques - Over 1000 hours of laboratory courses and research experience covered the following techniques: Titrations, extractions, synthesis, liquid chromatography and other wet chemistry Mass spectrometry (ICP-MS & GC-MS) Fourier transform IR spectroscopy (FTIR) Dynamic light scattering (DLS) and static light scattering (SLS) UV-vis spectroscopy X-ray photon spectroscopy Differential scanning calorimetry Atomic force microscopy Spectrophotometery Fluorimetery Data Collection and Analysis - Gather, sort, and format data for analysis. Efficient and effective methods for data collection both in the field, lab, and from databases Use Excel, ArcGIS or in-house software for organization, reformatting, and analysis Computer Literacy ESRI's ArcGIS; ArcMap & ArcScene (advanced) Microsoft Office (advanced) ImageJ (basic) Photoshop (basic) C++ (basic) Matlab (some experience)
