Adjustable Trigger Pressure Archery Release (Stealth)

View page
US Patent:
7240672, Jul 10, 2007
Filed:
Jan 26, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/043373
Inventors:
Paul Peck - North Fond du Lac WI, US
Jeffrey A. Eckert - North Fond du Lac WI, US
Lynn A. Tentler - Fond du Lac WI, US
Assignee:
Tru-Fire Corporation - North Fond du Lac WI
International Classification:
F41B 5/18
US Classification:
124 352
Abstract:
An adjustable trigger pressure archery release including a bayonet mounted trigger utilizing an actuator ramp to reduce trigger travel. The caliper jaws and cam profile combine to create an automatic closing action to close the release, whereby rearward pulling or squeezing movement of the trigger engages the caliper jaws to an open bow string or string loop apparatus receiving condition, and relaxing or releasing movement of the trigger closes the caliper jaws into a string retaining position. The release includes an independent mechanism for permitting adjustment of the trigger pressure force, without affecting trigger travel including frictional means of maintaining selected setting. The release head is universally adjustable or lockable relative to a wrist strap or similar mounting.

Bow String Release Having Floating Jaws And A Trigger Force Adjustment Mechanism

View page
US Patent:
7314045, Jan 1, 2008
Filed:
Jul 26, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/916636
Inventors:
Jeffrey A Eckert - North Fond du Lac WI, US
Lynn A Tentler - North Fond du Lac WI, US
Paul Peck - North Fond du Lac WI, US
Assignee:
Tru-Fire Corporation - North Fond Du Lac WI
International Classification:
F41B 5/18
US Classification:
124 352
Abstract:
A string release for providing accurate release of a tensioned bow string. The release has a pair of jaws which are retained and controlled by a pivot ball and a jaw cup. The pivot ball being mounted on a shaft which is attached to an inner race which is in turn contained within a ball housing. The inner race is positioned such that it may slide laterally within the ball housing. In the closed position, a number of balls retain the inner race in an aft position relative to the jaws. A trigger mechanism actuates a locking sleeve which allows the balls to move such that the inner race may slide forward, thereby allowing the jaw to open. The release further includes a trigger force adjusting mechanism that allows adjustment of the force required to activate the trigger mechanism.

Strap For Bow String Release

View page
US Patent:
7422008, Sep 9, 2008
Filed:
Sep 15, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/662989
Inventors:
Steve Tentler - Fond du Lac WI, US
Lynn A. Tentler - Cape Coral FL, US
Assignee:
Tru-Fire Corporation - North Fond Du Lac WI
International Classification:
F41B 5/18
US Classification:
124 352
Abstract:
A strap for a bow string release is provided to form a semi-closed (or open) hand receiving condition wrist strap for facilitating quick attachment and detachment of the strap to the wrist. The strap facilitates one-handed coupling about an archers wrist by selectively maintaining the semi-closed (or semi-open) hand receiving condition so that the archer does not have to manually insert a first end of the strap through a second end of the strap.

Arrowhead With Unfolding Blades

View page
US Patent:
7713152, May 11, 2010
Filed:
Aug 7, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/834812
Inventors:
Lynn A. Tentler - Cape Coral FL, US
Jeffrey A. Eckert - North Fond du Lac WI, US
Paul L. Peck - North Fond du Lac WI, US
International Classification:
F42B 6/08
US Classification:
473583
Abstract:
An arrowhead of the expandable or mechanical broadhead type, i. e. , having blades which unfold to increase the effective cutting area of the arrowhead, includes a tip with a rearwardly-extending actuating member which triggers one or more blades into an open state when the tip strikes a target game animal. The blades are pivotable with respect to a body into which the actuating member extends, and they include ears against which the actuating member presses upon tip impact to trigger the blades open. A latching spring maintains the blades in a closed state until the tip and actuating member are driven rearwardly by tip impact, and the tip and actuating member are preferably maintained in a forward and ready-to-trigger state by an opening spring. The actuating member may extend between the blade ears after the blades are triggered open to fix the blades in the open state until the tip is pulled forwardly to withdraw the actuating member from the ears.

Continuous Loop Wrist Strap For Bow String Release

View page
US Patent:
56156626, Apr 1, 1997
Filed:
Aug 4, 1994
Appl. No.:
8/285993
Inventors:
Lynn A. Tentler - Fond Du Lac WI

US Patent:
RE365556, Feb 8, 2000
Filed:
Feb 1, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/595726
Inventors:
Lynn A. Tentler - Fond du Lac WI
Assignee:
Tru-Fire Corporation - North Fond du Lac WI
International Classification:
F41B 514
US Classification:
124 91
Abstract:
A cushioned nock is mounted on a bow string to be between the arrow and a bow string release device. The cushioned nock comprises a. [. n elastomeric. ]. . Iadd. compressible. Iaddend. cylinder having an axial hole to receive the bow string. The cylinder is slit to permit the cylinder to be spread open for mounting on the string. A split ring fits in an external groove on the cylinder and is squeezed to clamp the cylinder on the string. The cylinder has a flange at each end to prevent damage to the arrow or the release. A similar cushioned nock or a conventional plastic lined, clamp type nock is mounted on the string above the arrow to fix the nocking point on the string. It is preferred to use a cushioned nock on each side of the nocking point (the point engaged by the arrow nock). Another cushioned nock can be mounted below the release device to allow mounting the device on the string pending use.
