US Patent:
7496575, Feb 24, 2009
Filed:
Nov 22, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/995020
Inventors:
Donato Buccella - Watertown MA, US
Seth N. Birnbaum - Boston MA, US
Nicholas Stamos - Belmont MA, US
Leonard F. Halio - Westford MA, US
Dwayne Carson - Mendon MA, US
Luis M. Fernandes - Berkley MA, US
Assignee:
Verdasys, Inc. - Waltham MA
International Classification:
G06F 7/00
G06F 17/30
G06F 15/173
G06F 9/44
US Classification:
707 9, 709224, 717127
Abstract:
A data processing application logging, recording, and reporting process and infrastructure. Compliance with regulatory directives such as HIPAA, internal organizational and corporate, personal information privacy, and other security policies can thus be enforced without the need to recode legacy application software. In one preferred embodiment, a core agent process provides “listener” functionality that captures user input events, such as keyboard and mouse interactions, between a user and a legacy application of interest. The agent obtains instructions for how to deal with such events, accessing information that describes the application's behavior as already captured by an application profiler tool. Keyboard and mouse data entry sequences, screen controls and fields of interest are tagged during application profiling process. This data is stored in application profile developed for each mode of a legacy application.

Mobile Cart Base With Traction Wheel

View page
US Patent:
8567798, Oct 29, 2013
Filed:
Feb 25, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/035481
Inventors:
Alfred P. Rossini - Southborough MA, US
Leonard Halio - Westford MA, US
Jeffrey M. Silverman - Stoughton MA, US
David Maloney - Medway MA, US
David Leiter - East Taunton MA, US
Thomas Bagley - Upton MA, US
Assignee:
Jaco, Inc. - Franklin MA
International Classification:
B62B 3/00
US Classification:
280 4735, 280 43, 280 7911
Abstract:
A multi-wheeled base for a mobile cart includes one or more swiveling, optionally locking, caster wheels and one or more non-swiveling traction wheels to improve the maneuverability of the cart by making it easier to steer and stop. The traction wheels may be manually-engaged traction wheels, which may be operated by a cam and lever. The traction wheels may also be automatically-engaged traction wheels operated by a motor and a threaded shaft, and activated by a motion-sensitive sensor or by an on/off electrical switch or button. The traction wheels are preferably in contact with the floor when the mobile cart is moving, and raised above the surface of the floor when the cart is stationary.

Digital Data Communications Device With Standard Option Connection

View page
US Patent:
41569318, May 29, 1979
Filed:
May 25, 1978
Appl. No.:
5/909442
Inventors:
Arnold E. Adelman - Hudson MA
Leonard F. Halio - Stow MA
Mark J. Sebern - Cedarburg WI
Assignee:
Digital Equipment Corporation - Maynard MA
International Classification:
G06F 300
US Classification:
364900
Abstract:
A communications device is used for transferring data to and from a data processing system. A controller in the communications device responds to communications signals from a signal source associated with the data processing system. A standard option connection is interposed between the controller and the signal source. When an option device is to be used, a circuit board is positioned in the connection. Conductors on the circuit board control the transfer of signals between the communications device and the signal source. The option device also includes data handling circuitry that responds to signals on the conductors or that may interrupt and/or modify these signals. The board also controls an option present signal used by the communications device for control purposes.
