Filed:
Jun 21, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/165141
Inventors:
Patrick M. Lindemann - Wooster OH, US
Paul Dougall - Copley OH, US
Rashid Farahati - Copley OH, US
Larry Chad Boigegrain - Copley OH, US
Michael Clason - Wooster OH, US
Layton Broome - Wooster OH, US
Chad Mieczkowski - Pittsburgh PA, US
Nathan Yensho - Norton OH, US
David C. Avins - Burbank OH, US
Assignee:
SCHAEFFLER TECHNOLOGIES GMBH & CO. KG - Herzogenaurach
International Classification:
F16H 45/02
US Classification:
192 328
Abstract:
A torque converter, including: a cover; a first through bore for receiving a transmission input shaft; a clutch including a piston plate; a plurality of fasteners connected to the cover; and a plate connected to the cover. The plate includes a radially aligned wall including a plurality of openings in which the plurality of fasteners is disposed; a second through bore at least partially aligned, in an axial direction, with the first through bore; and a plurality fins extending from the radially aligned wall in the axial direction. Each fin includes a first end aligned with the first and second through bores in the axial direction. Each fin includes a second end disposed radially within the plurality of openings. A space, aligned with an axis of rotation for the torque converter and the second through bore, is formed between the respective first ends.

Debris Diverting Inlet

US Patent:
20170122486, May 4, 2017
Filed:
Oct 30, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/927883
Inventors:
- Wooster OH, US
Layton Michael Broome - Wooster OH, US
Assignee:
Akron Brass Company - Wooster OH
International Classification:
F16L 55/24
Abstract:
One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for a fluid inlet that mitigates uptake of undesired debris into fluid transport system. A fluid inlet can direct fluid toward one or more fluid inlets, and debris entrained in the fluid may bypass the fluid inlet(s). The fluid inlet can be used to mitigate uptake of debris into a fluid transport system, when placed in the path of fluid flow. A shape of the fluid inlet can be configured to direct fluid flow into the fluid inlet(s), while the shape allows debris entrained in the fluid to flow past the fluid inlet(s).

Compact Flow Control Valve

US Patent:
20150226341, Aug 13, 2015
Filed:
Feb 9, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/617268
Inventors:
- Wooster OH, US
Layton Michael Broome - Wooster OH, US
International Classification:
F16K 5/06
F16K 31/60
F16K 31/53
Abstract:
One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for a valve. An exemplary valve may be able to provide a more compact profile than current valves, allowing for installation in locations that have size limitations, and/or may allow for more room in areas where prior non-compact valves are installed. Such a valve may be used for fluid intake to a pressurized fluid dispensing system. A compact valve can comprise a valve actuator that is disposed in line with the fluid intake of the valve, and not offset and extending from the valve, such that the flow of fluid passes through a point of rotation of the actuator. Further, a transmission may be used to transfer user actuation input to an internal flow control component, such as a ball-type flow controller, to move the flow control between an open and closed position.
