Filed:
Apr 16, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/735840
Inventors:
Marshall Bessieres - Palo Alto CA, US
Kevin Wallace - San Francisco CA, US
King Rhoton - San Francisco CA, US
James McTiernan - Gloucester MA, US
Brian Herring - Durham CA, US
Jianmin Wu - Cupertino CA, US

Assignee:
Adobe Systems Incorporated - San Jose CA
International Classification:
G06F 17/30
US Classification:
707706, 707717, 707721, 707723
Abstract:
Systems and methods are described that provide for generating ordered search results based on dynamic web analytics data that allows a resulting list of records that is responsive to a query to be ranked in a fashion that improves user satisfaction and conversion success rate. The system interrogates a target website to build a database of products and services. The individual pages/products in the database of products and services are ranked based on analytics data. Responses to searches of the target website are ordered as list of records that reflects the analytics data, which improves the ordering of the list of records based on criteria such as web page popularity, product popularity, or conversion success rate. Further embodiments provide for the generation of appropriately ordered search engine feed data based on the ranked database of products and services for the target website as well as the generation of search engine sitemaps with an appropriate priority attribute based on the analytics data.

Hierarchical Protocol Classification Engine

View page
US Patent:
20030131116, Jul 10, 2003
Filed:
Jun 21, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/177043
Inventors:
Hemant Jain - San Jose CA, US
Namit Sikka - San Jose CA, US
King Rhoton - San Francisco CA, US
International Classification:
G06F015/16
US Classification:
709/230000
Abstract:
A classification engine is capable of receiving a plurality of protocol data units (PDUs) and performing a tree-based classification on the PDUs. The classification engine includes: input means for receiving the PDUs; parsing means capable of parsing the PDUs to generate an abstracted protocol structure for at least one of the PDUs; classifier capable of performing the tree-based classification, said classifier being capable of enforcing policy using the abstracted protocol structure; and output means for transmitting the PDUs.

Context-Switching Mechanism For Facilitating Content Creation And Software Development

View page
US Patent:
20140245257, Aug 28, 2014
Filed:
Jun 25, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/877488
Inventors:
Steven R. Kusmer - San Francisco CA, US
King Rhoton - San Francisco CA, US
Hal R. Schectman - Portola Valley CA, US
Dietrich W. Schultz - Foster City CA, US
Michael P. Thompson - San Carlos CA, US
Kevin G. Wallace - San Francisco CA, US
International Classification:
G06F 9/44
G06F 17/30
G06F 3/0484
US Classification:
717113
Abstract:
A software module is presented that enables a user to efficiently switch between interacting with a content object in a first context and a second context. Information from the first context is used when switching to the second context and vice versa, thereby decreasing the overhead associated with switching contexts. In one embodiment, the content object is an HTML file, the first context is the file as it appears in a web browser, and the second context is the file in editable format. In one embodiment, when the web browser is directed to a “context-switch URL,” a modified web server extracts information from the context-switch URL and switches the context from the first context to the second. In one embodiment, a person initiates a context-switch by pushing a button on the web browser. This causes a context-switch URL to be generated and directs the web browser to the context-switch URL.
