Electrically Controlled Release Device

View page
US Patent:
20060278388, Dec 14, 2006
Filed:
Jun 10, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/150042
Inventors:
Kevin Zanca - Sugar Land TX, US
Ryan Daniel - Anchorage AK, US
Todor Sheiretov - Houston TX, US
Pete Howard - Bellville TX, US
International Classification:
E21B 17/00
US Classification:
166242600
Abstract:
A cable release apparatus includes a housing and latch mounted at one end of the housing. The latch has a central opening and a plurality of projecting members extending into the housing. A releasable connector is mounted inside the housing. An actuator has one end disposed in the central opening in the latch and another end in contact with the releasable connector. The actuator is movable between a first position prior to activation of the releaseable connector and a second position wherein the releasable connector is activated. Prior to activation of the releasable connector, the latch is held in place by an interference fit between the projecting members and the housing. When the releasable connector is activated, the projecting members are deflected by applying tension to the latch, thereby releasing the latch from the housing.

Fluid Control Modules For Use With Downhole Tools

US Patent:
20100307769, Dec 9, 2010
Filed:
Jun 5, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/478819
Inventors:
Stephane Briquet - Houston TX, US
Mark Milkovisch - Cypress TX, US
Scott Dyas - Houston TX, US
Wade W. Evans, II - Rosenberg TX, US
Kevin Zanca - Houston TX, US
International Classification:
E21B 21/08
E21B 34/00
US Classification:
166386, 166319, 175 48
Abstract:
Downhole tool fluid flow control apparatus including a first fluid valve between a first portion of a first flowline and a second portion of a second flowline. The first and second flowlines are adjacent each other. A second fluid valve is between a second portion of the first flowline and a first portion of the second flowline. The first and second fluid valves are controllable to cause fluid flow between the first portion of the first flowline and the second portion of the second flowline or between the first portion of the second flowline and the second portion of the first flowline.

Sequencer For Wellhead Device

View page
US Patent:
20200362665, Nov 19, 2020
Filed:
May 14, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/411460
Inventors:
- Houston TX, US
Vanessa Michelle Reyes - Houston TX, US
Kevin Zanca - Houston TX, US
Assignee:
C&J SPEC-RENT SERVICES INC. - Houston TX
International Classification:
E21B 34/02
E21B 33/068
E21B 23/04
F15B 11/20
Abstract:
A wellhead system includes a sequence valve in fluid communication with a wellhead device having a first hydraulic actuation device and a second hydraulic actuation device. The sequence valve includes a valve element configured to direct flow to the first hydraulic actuation device in a closed position and to direct flow to the second hydraulic actuation device in an open position. The sequence valve can actuate the second hydraulic actuation device after fully actuating the first hydraulic actuation device. Because the sequence valve can control the order of actuation of the actuation devices, the sequence valve can simplify the operation of the wellhead device and prevent incomplete or improper actuation of the wellhead device. The sequence valve can be utilized in remote and high pressure applications. Because of this, the sequence valve can provide reliable operation in various configurations.
