Integrated Milling And Production Device

View page
US Patent:
20210363846, Nov 25, 2021
Filed:
Aug 3, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/392826
Inventors:
- Houston TX, US
Mark Joshua Miller - Valencia PA, US
Kevin James Rudy - Houston TX, US
Assignee:
Workover Solutions, Inc. - Houston TX
International Classification:
E21B 29/00
E21B 33/134
Abstract:
An integrated milling and production device. The device includes a production housing, a connector, a motor, and a milling bit. The production housing has a central bore with at least one flapper valve pivotally disposed therein and an actuator. Upon completion of milling operations, the connector may be disengaged from the production housing. The production housing may be repositioned in the well. Activation of the actuator permanently opens the flapper valve to permit the flow of production up the production housing to the well surface. The actuator may be a piston.

Wear Resistant Vibration Assembly And Method

US Patent:
20200347676, Nov 5, 2020
Filed:
May 2, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/401594
Inventors:
- Houston TX, US
William Christian Herben - Magnolia TX, US
Steven Samuel Mitchell - Scottsdale AZ, US
Russell Wayne Koenig - Conroe TX, US
Mark Joshua Miller - Valencia PA, US
Kevin James Rudy - Houston TX, US
International Classification:
E21B 4/02
E21B 28/00
E21B 17/10
E21B 21/10
Abstract:
A vibration assembly includes a valve above a rotor and stator. The rotor rotates within the stator as fluid flows therethrough. The valve includes a rotating valve segment, which rotates with the rotor, and a non-rotating valve segment each including at least one fluid passage. In an open position, the fluid passages of the valve segments are aligned and a fluid flows through the valve. In a restricted position, the fluid passages of the valve segments are partially or completely unaligned, thereby creating a pressure pulse that is transmitted through the drill string or coiled tubing above the valve. The valve may further include an inner sleeve and an outer sleeve surrounding the non-rotating valve segment. The inner and outer sleeves allow axial sliding but prevent rotation of the non-rotating valve segment. The assembly may further include a lower thrust bearing at a lower end of the rotor.

Integrated Milling And Production Device And Method

US Patent:
20200318451, Oct 8, 2020
Filed:
Apr 5, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/376321
Inventors:
- Houston TX, US
Mark Joshua Miller - Valencia PA, US
Kevin James Rudy - Houston TX, US
Assignee:
Workover Solutions, Inc. - Houston TX
International Classification:
E21B 29/00
E21B 33/134
Abstract:
An integrated milling and production device includes a production housing having a central bore, one or more flapper valves pivotally disposed within the central bore, and an actuator disposed within the central bore. The flapper valves are closed in a default position. Activation of the actuator permanently opens the one or more flapper valves. A connector is selectively secured below the production housing, a motor is secured below the connector, and a milling bit is secured below the motor. The motor rotates the milling bit. Activating the connector disconnects the connector from the production housing. The actuator may be a piston disposed above the flapper valves in a milling position and disposed through the flapper valves in a production position to open the flapper valves. In the production position, a fluid may flow from the wellbore through the production housing's central bore and to the surface for collection.

Downhole Extended Reach Tool And Method

View page
US Patent:
20170204693, Jul 20, 2017
Filed:
Jan 18, 2017
Appl. No.:
15/408589
Inventors:
- Conroe TX, US
Russell Koenig - Conroe TX, US
Michael V. Williams - Conroe TX, US
Kevin J. Rudy - Conroe TX, US
Assignee:
Ashmin Holding LLC - Conroe TX
International Classification:
E21B 28/00
E21B 21/08
E21B 47/18
E21B 34/08
E21B 34/14
Abstract:
A downhole tool includes a valve assembly and a shock absorbing assembly. The valve assembly includes a valve spring operatively connected to a valve body. The shock absorbing assembly includes a spring operatively connected to a shock absorbing body having a fluid passage therethrough. The valve body is configured to selectively engage the shock absorbing body to create a fluid tight seal over the fluid passage in a first position, and to allow a fluid flow through the fluid passage in a second position. The repeated movement cycle of the selective engagement between the valve body and the shock absorbing body generates a pressure pulse or a varying pressure differential across the downhole tool. The repeated movement cycle is powered by a fluid flow. The tool may be selectively activated and deactivated.

Stabilizer Assembly And Method

View page
US Patent:
20160376852, Dec 29, 2016
Filed:
Jun 26, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/751723
Inventors:
- Conroe TX, US
Kevin J. Rudy - Conroe TX, US
Mike V. Williams - Montgomery TX, US
International Classification:
E21B 17/10
E21B 19/00
Abstract:
A stabilizer assembly for a tubular member includes a stabilizing body dimensioned to fit around the tubular member, a central portion having a radial projection, and a first end having a first threaded outer surface and a set of integral first elastic members. A first nut member includes a proximal end with a threaded inner surface configured to engage the first threaded outer surface of the stabilizing body and a central portion with a first tapered inner surface configured to engage the first elastic members of the stabilizing body. Threading the first nut member onto the first end of the stabilizing body forces the first elastic members to engage the first tapered inner surface of the first nut member thereby radially flexing the first elastic members to engage the tubular member. An inner surface of a distal end of each first elastic member may include a grip section.
