In an example embodiment, a search query is received via a user interface. A member identification, in a social networking service, is then obtained for a member who generated the search query. The member identification is forwarded to a faceting service, the faceting service designed to return a list of top N organization identifications corresponding to organizations having a plurality of employees who share an attribute in common with the member. The list of top N organization identifications is received from the faceting service. The search query is augmented with the list of top N organization identifications, and the augmented search query is sent to a search platform to obtain a first set of search results corresponding to the top N organization identifications. At least a portion of the first set of search results are then displayed in the user interface.

Techniques for enhancing usability and electronic resource efficiency using job relevance are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a list of a predetermined number of top job openings for a member of the social networking system is generated. The list is communicated to a device of the user for presentation in a user interface on the device. The user interface allows the member to browse through and provide an indication of a lack of relevancy of each of the list of the predetermined number of top job openings to the member and an indication of a reason for the lack of relevancy. Based on the user providing the indication of the lack of relevancy and the reason, a modified relevancy assessment of each of the plurality of job openings is generated. The list of the predetermined number of top job openings for the member is regenerated and communicated to the device.

In an example embodiment, a method for selecting text snippets to display on a computer display is provided. A universal concept graph for phrases relevant to a search domain is created, the universal concept graph representing each phrase as a node and relationships between the phrases as edges between the nodes. A result in the search domain is represented as a subgraph of the universal concept graph by extracting a portion of the universal concept graph containing phrases contained in the result. Then, a score is produced for each node of the subgraph, the score based on a graph analysis algorithm applied to the subgraph. Then text snippets to display for the result are selected to be displayed based on the scores produced in the subgraph for phrases contained in the text snippets.
