Haplotypes for phased genotypic information are determined from unphased genotypic information. One exemplary method includes separating a dataset that includes genotypic information for a plurality of markers for each of a plurality of individuals into subdatasets, each subdataset including the genotypic information for a subset of the plurality of markers; for each subdataset, identifying haplotypes compatible with marker information for each marker of the subset and for each individual of the plurality; and for each individual, assembling the haplotypes from each of the subsets to provide the individual's haplotype with respect to the plurality of markers.

Abstract:
This invention pertains to surfactant-templated nanometer-scale porosity of a silica precursor solution and forming a mesoporous material by first forming the silica precursor solution into a preform having a high surface area to volume ratio, then rapid drying or evaporating a solvent from the silica precursor solution. The mesoporous material may be in any geometric form, but is preferably in the form of a film, fiber, powder or combinations thereof. The rapid drying or evaporation of solvent from the solution is accomplished by layer thinning, for example spin casting, liquid drawing, and liquid spraying respectively. Production of a film is by layer thinning, wherein a layer of the silica precursor solution is formed on a surface followed by removal of an amount of the silica precursor solution and leaving a geometrically thinner layer of the silica precursor solution from which the solvent quickly escapes via evaporation. Layer thinning may be by any method including but not limited to squeegeeing and/or spin casting. In powder formation by spray drying, the same conditions of fast drying exists as in spin-casting (as well as in fiber spinning) because of the high surface-area to volume ratio of the product.

Abstract:
In one embodiment, a system and method for determining a location of a mobile device are described. A number of different locations for the mobile device is provided using a location determining system. The locations for a number of virtual base stations are determined utilizing the known locations for the mobile device. Then a new location for the mobile device is established based on the determined plurality of locations of the virtual base stations. In one embodiment, a system and method for establishing network references for a first wireless location determining system are described. A plurality of known locations for a mobile device is provided using a second location determining system. Radio signals between the mobile device and base stations of the first wireless location determining system are measured and a plurality of locations for a respective plurality of virtual base stations are determined based on the known locations of the mobile device and the measured radio signals. The determined plurality of locations for the plurality of virtual base stations are then utilized to establish network references for the first wireless location determining system.

A RFID cabinet comprises a cabinet structure and one or more drawers or shelves. Chambers are formed within the cabinet to house the one or more drawers or shelves. An RFID scanner is configured to scan items tagged with RFID tags in the chambers via one or more antennas. The antennas can include transmit and receive antennas or antennas configured to perform both transmit and receive functions. The drawers can have a access cover, or lid that can be controlled so as to control access to the drawer. The scanner can be configured to perform inventory control for the tagged items.
