Julius Sund - Plymouth MN, US
Eric Lagman - Anderson SC, US
Pete Hoeft - Minneapolis MN, US
Paul R. Lesch - Lino Lakes MN, US
Tom Kramer - Coon Rapids MN, US
Assignee:
Antares Pharma, Inc. - Minneapolis MN
International Classification:
A61M 5/315
US Classification:
604228
Abstract:
A safety member for use with an injection device is disclosed. The safety member includes a blocking ring extending into a housing of the injection device in blocking association with a latch member associated with a trigger mechanism of the injector, in which the blocking ring blocks movement of a portion of the trigger mechanism into a firing position. The safety member further includes a manipulable portion disposed outside the housing and configured for hand-manipulation by a user to remove the safety member from the housing to unblock the firing mechanism to enable firing of the injector.

US Patent:
20130018313, Jan 17, 2013
Filed:
Jul 15, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/184229
Inventors:
Thomas Kramer - Minneapolis MN, US
Matthew Howard Rust - Hudson WI, US
Paul Michael Goudreau - Minneapolis MN, US
Peter Anthony Hoeft - Minneapolis MN, US
Julius Craig Sund - Plymouth MN, US
Peter L. Sadowski - Minneapolis MN, US
Assignee:
Antares Pharma, Inc. - Minneapolis MN
International Classification:
A61M 5/20
US Classification:
604131
Abstract:
An exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure can provide an injector including a trigger mechanism, an energy source, and a user-operable firing-initiation member. The trigger member can include a trigger member having a retainer portion, and a ram assembly having a ram configured to pressurize a medicament container for expelling a medicament therefrom and a trigger engagement member configured to engage the retainer portion of the trigger member in a pre-firing condition. The energy source can be associated with the ram for powering the ram to expel the medicament, and the user-operable firing-initiation member can be operable for causing an axial rotation between the trigger engagement member and the retainer portion from the pre-firing condition to a firing condition in which the trigger engagement member is released from the retainer portion to allow the energy source to fire the ram.

Liquid-Transfer Adapter Beveled Spike

View page
US Patent:
20130018354, Jan 17, 2013
Filed:
Jul 15, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/184211
Inventors:
Julius Craig Sund - Plymouth MN, US
Kevin David Swanson - Elk River MN, US
Assignee:
Antares Pharma, Inc. - Minneapolis MN
International Classification:
A61J 1/20
US Classification:
604414
Abstract:
A liquid-transfer adapter operatively interposable between an injector and a vial is provided. The adapter has an injector engaging portion configured for fluidly coupling to an injector and a vial coupling. The vial coupling includes a spike that has a spike axis and a tip portion configured for piercing a septum of a vial. The tip portion includes a plurality of facets that meet each other at one or more edges and at least one of the one or more edges is sloped with respect to the spike axis. The spike defines a channel extending therethrough in fluid communication with the injector engaging portion. A channel opening is defined in at least one of the facets and disposed without interrupting the edges.

Prefilled Syringe With Breakaway Force Feature

US Patent:
20130237921, Sep 12, 2013
Filed:
Mar 5, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/785582
Inventors:
Julius C. Sund - Plymouth MN, US
Assignee:
ANTARES PHARMA, INC. - Ewing NJ
International Classification:
A61M 5/20
US Classification:
604198
Abstract:
A jet injector that includes a prefilled syringe. The syringe includes a fluid chamber that contains a medicament. The syringe also has an injection-assisting needle, and a plunger is movable within the fluid chamber. A housing is configured for allowing insertion of the needle to a penetration depth. The housing includes a retractable guard and an interference component, e.g., a lock ring, adjacent to the retractable guard that interferes with the movement of the retractable guard. An energy source is configured for biasing the plunger to produce an injecting pressure to jet inject the medicament from the fluid chamber through the needle to an injection site.
