Assignee:
GM Global Technology Operations, Inc. - Detroit MI
International Classification:
F01N 3/00
US Classification:
60277
Abstract:
An engine control system that regulates fuel to an engine after lean idle operation includes a first module that determines a rich mass fuel rate based on a lean operation mass air flow and a stoichiometric air to fuel ratio (AFR) and that calculates a time rich based on the rich mass fuel rate. A second module regulates fuel to the engine during a rich operation period after the lean idle operation to provide the rich mass fuel rate for the time rich.

F02D 7/00
F02D 7/02
US Classification:
123481, 12317916, 12317917
Abstract:
An engine cranking system includes fuel injectors that are associated with multiple combustion chambers of an engine. The fuel injectors include a first fuel injector that is associated with a first combustion chamber. A second fuel injector is associated with a second combustion chamber. A control module is coupled to the fuel injectors and operates the first fuel injector in a deactivated state for a first chamber cycle during cranking of said engine. The first chamber cycle includes intake and exhaust strokes and is associated with a first combustion chamber.

US Patent:
7779810, Aug 24, 2010
Filed:
Sep 13, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/531444
Inventors:
Jesse M. Gwidt - Brighton MI, US
David P. Sczomak - Troy MI, US
Michael J. Lucido - Northville MI, US
